I always have an issue as to what to do about snorers? I used to elbow them or find some reason to bump them - - now I just turn the iPod louder.

I could make a list, but I'll start with a few

the air conditioning (working or not working-never right). The a/c is working, then it's not.

cell phone rudeness-too long or too loud you should drive to work. I don't want to hear about your trip to California or the details of your gall bladder operation

Can everyone just shut up at 7am? I can't even imagine having a conversation with anyone at that hour..

The guy falling asleep on me yesterday was a keeper! Insert elbow into rib-cage (several times)

Toe nail clipping-uh...I think it's a don't

Antagonizing your kids so they get even more upset and scream louder-i have a story about this one

They really need 'Quiet cars'... no cell phones, no talking, no loud ipods, munching, etc. Need this on all trains and on planes that fly during certain times of the day.

i totally agree with this sooo much i dont want to hear about any gossip, about how your husband calls you every five minutes to see where the keys are or what you want for dinner.

i try very hard not to answer my phone while im on the train.... mainly because i think it is rude but also because im always sleeping.

Another thing I hate: when guys try to offer me a ride home or tell me how couples have met while commuting, etc. I don't want to go out with you - I just want to go home.

I used to take the train from Huntington into Hunts Point, at night there were some SHADY characters over there!

The fat guy next to me talking dirty on his cell phone, the old man who snores, the woman who tries to read my newspaper, the list is endless. i have worked in manhattan for many many years.

The problem with this is... they are calling and gossiping with their other idiot friends that are up taking the train at that time of the morning as well.

When I used to commute my biggest pet peeve was people who clipped their fingernails (I never got to experience the toenail one!) Don't they know they should do that in their bathroom? Ew!

Ahh, the joys of the LIRR. I was downsized from my job and so I haven't commuted since February, but I rememeber waiting for a train that would never come.

I also hate the people who think that the train is their personal space to clip finger and toenails, gossip with friends, snore, eat and leave their half drunk cups of coffee on the floor so some poor unassuming fool can kick it over and spill it down the train.

Part of me wishes I could get another job back in the city and the other part of me is SO glad that I am not on the LIRR anymore.

What I have done on the LIRR-
*tweezed eyebrows if sitting alone
*glanced at others newspapers

I never leave my coffee cups, and if my seat neighbor does I give them the evil eye or say something like 'you are not leaving that there, are you?'-- then they take it....

I hate the cell phone people who have nothing else to do BUT talk on the phone on my long commute to Ronkonkoma, ugh..

the stinky perfume ladies...the stinky people who smell like ashtrays and the BIG/Fat folks who need to sit in the middle seat and stink.

The tempeture of the train! OHmy, sweater or shawl each day, or the lack of AC or Heat, and when there is NO heat, i need a blanket. It's like a cattle car!!
