I'm glad it worked out.

I just called them and they said that if I order it hollow to hem and the length of the dress is off, there will be an additional charge for alterations. Crazy! Now I'm thinking of leaving the order as is which is a regular size and taking it somewhere else for alterations.

it shouldnt be off if the place is the one measuring you for it... if they mess that up, the cost should be on them... JMO

I'm 5'2 and I'm not doing that. The sample that I tried on was just the perfect length, so I think that I should be good... Otherwise I have full faith in my seamstress...I've seen tons of her work on other brides. Can't notice a thing!

I am a little taller (5'4) but I ordered my dress hollow to hem because there is a lot of detail on the bottom. I think it is worth the money so taht the dress looks balanced to your height. Hope that helps.

Re: Petite brides - Do you have to order your dress hollow to hem?

I have never heard of the term 'hollow to hem' before so I have no idea if that's what I ordered. I am 5'3' and when my measurements were taken, it was across the bust, waist, and then i held the tape measure at my throat as they measured down to the floor while I was wearing 3 inch heels. 3 different ladies measured to make sure they came up with the same numbers.

My dress has details on the bottom but not until a few inches upwards...hmm... now you have me thinking.

Edited (again)... Ok, just looked at my receipt. Duh... there it is in writing... 'Hollow to hem additional $100'. Whatever. With everything else we're paying, what's another $100....
