Re: Pew Lanterns

That's really pretty. Is your ceremony at night? I'm worried that they wouldn't look as nice in the sunlight.

Re: Pew Lanterns

Depends on your church. Some churches are really bright and sunny and some are not. Mine is a little bit darker...and it will fall closer to the floor where there isn't any light.

MY CHURCH
you can see down by the pews its a little darker and the lanterns will give it a glow

They have the white...I found them...just think I need to spray paint them an off white because they are gonna clash with me and the runner! Looking at the ones you have do you think they can be spray painted?

What type of ribbon did you use?

Re: Pew Lanterns

There are just so many ways to decorate that I never knew about. Love that idea especially since some churches can be a little dark. Almost makes me want to get married in one, almost

honestly, I don't think anyone would notice at all that the lanterns are 'white' white and the runner is ivory. They will too busy staring at you walking down the aisle at how beautiful you are!

I just got regular yellow ribbon from Michael's.

Ok next question for you. How many did you get and how are you putting them on the pews? Every other? All? Front? Back?

Re: Pew Lanterns

well my church is separated in the middle... so in the back of the church there are 14 pews on either side and then there's the split. Then in the front part by the altar there are 16 pews.

We want to encourage people to sit up in the front section so we are only decorating that section. we are doing every 3rd pew with a lantern on either side in the front the section.

you really just have to go to your church and stand there an envision it and figured out from there how many you need to order.

I went there and counted the pews lol...There is a split between front and back but I think if I did every other pew to the back I would need 14 on each side. I was thinking about ordering 35 of them and putting the extras elsewhere....I have to go back and look again.

Re: Pew Lanterns

that sounds good. You can maybe even use the extra in the venue somewhere or just sell the whole lot of them after the wedding. I'm sure some future brides on this site can get use out of them.

I have 36 that I THINK I might sell after the wedding. I don't know for sure as who knows what will happen after the ceremony if a few might break or get lost, etc etc.

I'll speak with FI afterwards if we want to sell them or not etc etc. Just remind me if I'm still around and you need them still.

They are brand new white lanterns by kate aspen, but they don't have those little feet in the store link above. they are exactly like this, if you notice no little metal feet sticking out at the bottom:
