What are the average prices out there you all are paying for a photographer? Would be greatly appreciated if anyone could give me an idea. Estimates I have range from $2500-$3300 (includes albums and the like). This seems quite high. Was expecting to pay $2000 max. Was I wrong?

There are some packages for less - depends upon what you want. We're paying 2300 but that includes our 36 photo album, 2 parent albums (12 photos each), 2 8x10, 6 5x7, 50 thank yous, all proofs and all photos. photographer & asst start at my house and will work through reception. They do have packages that are less but most of the ones that provide the proofs (that I found at least) are within that range. I wanted the proofs b/c I'm not planning on buying anymore photos and wanted to make my own album with the shots they take.

My friends are getting married at the East Wind next year and found someone who was giving them more for almost the same amount of money. If you're getting married out east and want the info, email me privately and I'll find out and pass it along.

Good luck! : )

We are paying $2300 for our photos from Glenmar studios. We thought our package included a lot and we liked how the photographs looked of the photographer we are using. His photos looked photojournalistic and not your average posed photos. You can pay $2000 at some places but when I was looking these were that was for basic packages. It depends on what you want and what kind of photos you want. Good Luck!

Where is Glenmar located? The only one I found was in NJ? Is that the same one?

Thanks to the wonderful bride who posted the link to the MS Clip Art Gallery, I used a really cute B&G on each card and typed each persons name with "Table #"....I will handwrite in the actual table # in black ink when the seating is finalized.

THEY ARE IN ROSLYN. THE PHONE NUMBER IS 516-484-4646.

Our church is requesting a $200 donation. The catch is, is that you have to use their organist and vocalist which adds another $200 to the budget for ceremony music. Does this sound reasonable?

I would ask around about photographers before I would pick one for any price. Ask people who have been married. Ask as many people as you can.

The second thing is that you cannot invite teens from one family and not from the other. Not only will that bother people, it may very well hurt feelings.

I have been kind of whimpy when it comes to telling either sides anything. They give me advice or give their opinion and I do my own thing. What does your fiance think about the teen thing?

Hi There: I will pay 3200 for Video and Photography.

You can check out Rick & Co website in Sayville. He actually has a new price for Photo & Video for 3020.00 total. Great work.

If you were invited to a shower out of town and weren't able to attend, would you send a gift???

I actually just went to him on Wednesday of last week, and he seemed really nice. But he was only the first photographer I went to and I want to price around.

Does anyone else have a photographer that they used that I can go to that is reasonably priced?

We just booked with KOALA Studios in Medford. The 2 women who own the studio are also the photographers and you get both of them for the whole day. The price they gave us was excellent compared to some others we checked with and their work is beautiful. My fiance who is a also a photographer was very impressed with them.

If you walk in the rear entrance (where the cosmetic store is), if you walk past the pretzel booth towards the escalator and turn left, there is a silk flower place that sells headpieces as well. I'm sure there are more place, but those were the most obvious that I saw.

Then, when you are done, if you go to the jewelry section upstairs, look for "Turkan Jewelers" along the left wall in the upper corner. They are honest, and don't try to rip you off (and you can really bargain with them).

I am using Frederick on Rte 110 in Melville. After I booked him, I was told by a video guy that he was good. (he worked with him on some weddings) Then I was told by another photographer that I made a good choice. He wins Photography awards for his work. I didnt even know that when I booked him...so I am very glad for my pick.

ha ha ha

If you are having 250 people I don't reccomend Fox Hollow, their Garden Room is the biggest that they have and my experience was not a great one.

Hi. I booked Fine Art Photography in Jericho. They are on Robbins Lane in Jericho. I dont have their # with me but they are in the phone book and have a website www.fineartphoto.com. Check them out. Reasonably priced and great work. Good Luck.

I found them to be inflexible with their packages...what was written was what you were going to get. And, they seemed pretty snotty about it...because they've been in the business soooooo long, and they're ALWAYS booked...blah, blah, blah. (They were refered from my reception hall, so I thought they would've been a little bit more flexible.)
