Re: photographer leaving early
My photographer did this. He said he'd be leaving 30-45 min early, but he was actually there until the end of the reception b/c he saw how much we were all having and grabbed some really nice candid shots! He did stop filming about 15-30 minutes before the party ended b/c well, he used up all the film he brought. My videographer videoed for the entire reception to the minute it ended.
Don't worry about it so much - photographer's know what they are doing and grab some of the best shots!!!

if he leaves when he wants to it he would be there for 8 hours.
Then I would most definitely tell him you are firm on his staying til the end!

Re: photographer leaving early
i would be po-ed if my photographers left b4 the day ended, ti's their duty to take all wedding shots.... even staying later to take more photos with you.don't take no for an answer. better yet, dont pay them until AFTER the wedding and u're satisfied with their services.

for 5k my guy better stay!
AMEN!!
i'm not paying that much--but i feel like if i'm paying you...whats 30 more min. i mean seriously? besides--i just wanted to note that a photog who goes for an unlimited time...that could wind up with many many more proofs and possible pics with guests that maybe you didn't get a chance to take pics with earlier in the day. or perhaps some great candid shots of you saying good bye to ppl.
i don't like the photog attitude of 'it's over anyway at that point' um...no it's over when the last person leaves !

Re: photographer leaving early
I never heard that before. It is a good question to ask my photographer.

Re: photographer leaving early
I would pay a little extra to have him stay. I have heard of photographersleaving early, but I wouldn't want that. It is one day in your life that I really want covered.

Re: photographer leaving early
We paid for the hours and it wound up that they left 1/2 hour before it ended. They missed DH dancing with his 94 year old grandmother so all we have is a shot from a friend of the family. See if you can pay more, it is SO worth it in my opinion.

Re: photographer leaving early
whether people know it or not, the majority of photographers DO sneak out before the wedding is actually over. I just dont think anyone realizes it....if u have something extra special towards the end(or just REALLY want them to stay regardless) i'm sure if u talk to them and voice that, that they'll stay. They're not going to pass up booking a wedding just to leave a 1/2 hour early.

Re: photographer leaving early
I personally don't like photographers that give a specific amt of hours that they work. Ours gave unlimited time...as should EVERY photographer.

Re: photographer leaving early
My photographer left about 30 min early. She works for 9 hours, so you pick what time she starts and ends.30 minutes made no difference to me.

Re: photographer leaving early
i think its actually a common thing now that they leave early. my photographers had a cheaper package that they left an hour into the reception but i wanted them there the whole thing i splurged and spent an additional 500

Re: photographer leaving early
Well, I had mine for 10 hours, so knowing that my wedding ended at midnight, I scheduled them to meet us at the hotel at 2pm.And I know they didn't leave at midnight on the dot either, they stayed until we were getting on the shuttle bus to go back to the hotel with everyone.
If that half hour matters, why don't you have them come a half hour later? We did get some fun pictures in that last half hour.

Re: photographer leaving early
I think that is pretty normal- maybe talk to him about checking in with you to make sure you got all of the pictures you needed.

Re: photographer leaving early
I just found out that my photographer will be leaving after the cake-cutting, and although I am a little sad about that, we are taking the majority of our pics before the ceremony and he is arriving at 1pm.

Re: photographer leaving early
Our photographer left after the cake cutting and honestly I was a little glad. There really wasnt much else going on at that time and even though I enjoyed my wedding day to fullest and my photographer was so much fun, I felt I needed that last hour to let lose and not worry about a camera snapping a picture of me. I was able to actually party and drink that last hour and not worry about my eyes looking blurry in the pictures.Welcome New Vendors
