I don't know much about the photographers you listed. What I CAN recommend is that you book a photographer and videographer of your choice. Many Many people are under the impression that getting both at the same place is the best.
A photographer has his own art as do videographers. They are not nearly the same thing. So, my only advice to you is choose who you like best for photography and choose who you like best for video. They should be separate they are two different vendors offering different things.
Usually photgraphers throw in video and outsource it anyway. (meaning, they hire a videographer they know to shoot and edit the wedding anyway) you might as well pick the videographer you want instead of letting your photgrapher do that for you and paying him extra $.
by the way out of that list the only one I'd recommend is Patken.
I disagree only because not all of the photographers out source video and I have seen to 2 weddings this year where both the photo and video guy were from 2 different companies and they fought and argued the entire time.

Re: Photographers--Negative feedback please!
you all did bring up a good point. Photographers and Videographers do sometimes get on each others nerves. The photographer doesn't want the video guy 'stealing' their work/ideas or vice versa.I guess you should ask your video guy or photographer if they've worked with the other vendor before. That way you can get a sense for how they react to who you are using for the other vendor.
As for my original post, I just meant a lot of vendors try to give you an all-in-one package and you should go with whomever you like the best for that specific duty of taking your pictures or shooting your video.
And....why can't they (the vendors) just get along?

I used ADA and was totally thrilled with everyting, from their service to the day of, and even after...always so frinedly and helpful, and my end results were gorgeous! You might be better off doing a search on LIW witht eh keywords for vendors...or looking in brides reviews....everyuone has their own opinions, some good and some bad...

$6500, oh my....
I wish I could come up with that kind of money, that is very pricey for photography, I have seen a bunch, but nothing that high.

Re: Photographers--Negative feedback please!
Patken - nice work, but something didn't sit right with us. We went to see them a second time and when I asked them about getting proofs they got really wierd. That turned off me and FH.Duet - loved their work, but were a little wary about the language barrier. After talking about it and seeing all the wonderful work done by them on this site, we decided to go with them. However we weren't crazy about the video, so we booked a separate videographer.
Hope this helps.
Same here on Patken. Beautiful pics, I found the customer service lacking.
We went with Duet. Loved their video and the shots looked great.

Re: Photographers--Negative feedback please!
We're also paying for our wedding, but photography is one area that I have diligently researched, since it is the one area that I am splurging on (well according to my budget). I can give you my opinion on the following:Imagine- beautiful pics, truly artistic, very $$$$
Gray--really want to hear about them--never heard of them
Duet-beautiful pics and video, love their style, my favorite so far and will most likely book them
Artisan-ok pics, but not that cheap for the work that they do
Patken-nice pics, too $$$
Leli-ok pics, not too $$$$
12th Night-nice pics, nice style, a little too 'dark' for me, kind of $$$
Silverfox-beautiful pics, beautiful style, too $$$
Duval- ????
Rainbow-???
Pageant-???
ADA-didnt like their style
Sherwood TriArt-beautiful pics, too $$$
Images Forever-?
Cassarino- ok pics, considering them
HTH and good luck!!

Re: Photographers--Negative feedback please!
Let's see, we only went to a few...12th Night - FH and I loved their work, but Dominic talked so much at our meeting that we couldn't even think. Had it not been for the hard sell we felt like we were getting, we would have chosen them.
Duet - work is comparable with 12th night, we really liked them as well. However we noticed they didn't offer a photojournalistic photographer until you got to their silver package or something like that.
Fine Art - our meeting with them felt very business like and matter of fact. They had great work and were one of our hall's vendors, but we weren't wowed by them.
Christina Bohn - the one we booked. She was very laid back and had a great personality and her work blew us away. She was mainly photojournalistic, which is what we were looking for and within our budget.

Re: Photographers--Negative feedback please!
I hate to slander but Duval actually did my Best friends wedding 2 years ago and they just got their final proofs 2 months ago. Talk about messing up...many of her shots were out of focus and they had to redo their wedding album like 3x's.I went there just to see what they had to say and they were expensive for a basic package.
I would pass!

Re: Photographers--Negative feedback please!
i realize they're not on your list but IMO i'd steer clear of Velvet Studios. The work was absolutely beautiful - it was actually the pix of other girls on LIW that made me go there.
However, they are having some problems with the Better Biz Bureau. I suggest checking the BBB for ANY vendor you consider before booking.

Re: Photographers--Negative feedback please!
Geese, as I'm reading threw all of yoru notes I'm going to assume that the photographer is going to be my biggest expense. If anyone knows any good, but reasonably priced ones please let me know. Are their any that run less than 2000?? I'm so going to be broke after all this
