We are considering Gray's Photography in Floral Park, Jeffrey Studios in Smithtown and Jo-Von of Brookville. Anyone have any feedback (positive or negative) about these?

Kate,

Would you mind telling me the pice range for the bridesmaid dresses? Two of my girls are on a tight budget...Thanks a lot,

WE also looked at Franklin Square Photographers. WE liked their pictures alot but felt they didn't do much regarding creativity and photojournalism (very traditional. We have heard mixed opinions regarding JoVon- how was the photographer at your sister's wedding in regards to friendliness?

Laura: Try Rick & Co. in Sayville. He's sooo sweet and his work is beautiful. He has a web site, I think you can just type in Rick & Co. He is doing my photography and video for 3,200 total

My SIL's wedding was there in 96. She had an August wedding(sweat city) and used the garden type room for the cocktail hour(which was very hot) and the tiffany room for her reception. The wedding was lovely, I do remember some people sending their food back because it was cold though. The part that is nice about Manor East is the moving of your guests to multiple rooms--I always love that when I go to a wedding. Good Luck

When I checked out Gray, their cheapest package was $2500. They were pretty strict on this price and the package...not flexible at all. They seemed pretty standard with the way the did things...like an upscale factory for wedding pictures. Just my opinion.

I've booked JoVon to do my photos in June. I liked them because they were very flexible. No set packages, you pay for what you want. We took our engagement pictures with the photographer that we are scheduled to have for the wedding & they came out great. We were very pleased!!! I've also heard mixed reviews about them. But, when it comes to photography it's very subjective. What I like you might hate and vice versa. Good luck in your search. I thought photography was one of the most difficult to pick.

depends on alot of factors--there is a big price difference per night and per star menu. I had a Saturday night in December with surf and turf and a full vienese(3* I think), it was $108 pp--I've heard the same setup has gone up to $125 in 2000.....Gina :)

I am usin Jo Von for my Nov wedding. Do you mind me asking who you booked with?

Kate, Don't worry I will be with you guys until the end!! I am about to loose my mind!! And at the same time I am having the time of my life! I have only 26 days left and everything is going as well as can be expected. We did the finals at the hall over the weekend, and tomorrow we go over the final arrangements with the DJ, Video, and Florist! This weekend I have my hair trial, and another fitting. Seating has been a PIP to say the least, why do people believe that they do NOT have to send in their RSVP's by the date indicated??? I was so organized and did not believe that I would be running around like this at the last minute!! But I also have a little advise, leave yourself plenty of free time at the end you will need it! Also I do not know if they all do this but my hall provides the cake topper, toasting glasses and cake cutters. Good thing I waited till the last minute on this one, I am not having a cake topper because it does not really go with my cake, and I think that I have enough keepsakes from the wedding so I will use their toasting glasses and cake cutter, besides it saves a few bucks.

That is who we are using. I am really glad you loved him!! We did everything so quickly that i was afraid that I jumped in too quickly.

Thanks to everyone for their advice and input! We still haven't decided yet who we are going to book with. Just curious if anyone knows how long it took to get the wedding album back from Jovon? (this was one of our concerns)

Another good idea that I have seen in the past for an engagement or to do at the shower.

In the basket put your brother's favorite things. If he likes spaghetti, put it in the basket. If he likes a certain shampoo, put in in the basket.
