I'm over it!!!! Reading what all of you had to say really hit home and was hepful. Today, I went alone to the bridal salon and there was this one girl who was there with her mother and she was such a brat. She kept yelling at her mom for making nice, pleasant suggestions and when her mother was giving me an opinion about a dress, she flipped out! She was rolling her eyes and was like 'mom, get over here.!!!' I was thinking, some brides are so lucky to have such great parents who make it their mission to make their daughters happy and live for them- and they treat their parents with no respect! What I wouldn't give...

I am sorry about the way your parents are acting, but I am happy to see your outlook changed some. I still think you should try talking to them, but I also think they will turn around once they see that you are handling it by yourself. Good Luck!

I really understand what your going thru but in a little bit of a different way. My MOH (who is my best friend) is just totally not interested in my wedding. I really should have expected it because our friendship has always been about her, but its still hard. I would do anything for her & it hurts that she has such little interest in what is bound to be the most important day in my life yet.

But in the other hand, my mother is a little to involved. I love her & wouldn't change her for the world, but she is going through some personal issues & to stop focussing on them she has been taking over my wedding! I'm not very assertive when it comes to my mom, but I just keep trying to remember, its my day so I have to be assertive or she'll take control of ever detail.

All I can say is thank god for LIWeddings!!!

Oh thats so sad. Do you have any good friends that would love to go with you. Trying on your dress is very important. How about his mom? or sister if he has. Oh I wish I could help.

I only partly agree. Yes nobody will be as excited as you are. That is normal. If your mom isn't interested in dress shopping find someone who is. What about his mom? My FMIL was so excited that I included here when I went for my fittings.

Get you FI included in whatever you can. This will help. And remember we are all here to listen and actually want to hear all about it.

If you can't find someone to go look at dresses with you and you need opinions let us know I am sure some of the girls will be happy to meet up with you!!!

Regardless of how the planning goes don't let it ruin your day. It will be amazing no matter what!
