But DAMN their cakes look AMAZING. Saw it on Travel channel. My favorite is the silver mickey and minnie stamps. That was too cool.

I've seen those cakes too, MrH ... yes they are AMAZING . Esp. the mickey/minnie silver stamped one .. too cool

I love Disney, have probably been there at least 12 times ... alas, FH is NOT a Disney fan whatsoever. That said, I've always gotten a great kick out of seeing couples getting married there when I was on a vacation .. A totally nice idea, IMO (albeit expensive)

My FH's brother/SIL did a Disney Theme at their wedding...It was COMPLETELY OVER THE TOP, IMO .. I say (like others have said) to do little touches here and there and keep the rest a little more traditional.

Re: Poll: Disney themed wedding

Love the Disney Theme
We are doing it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I am naming each table rather than numbering them, each is going to be called a Disney movie and/or couple. ie: Cinderellas Castle, Lady and The Tramp,

I know corny but I love it and we are going to give mini snow globes as gifts.

Re: Poll: Disney themed wedding

I think it is a great idea!!! I am a huge Mickey Mouse fan. I wanted to do a Disney theme but FI nixed that idea. So I am going to have the Wedding Mickey and Minnie figurine on our table.

Re: Poll: Disney themed wedding

I love the idea, I really do! Hubby arranged a nice engagment with disney, and we got engaged at the rose garden in front of the castle. We then checked out the wedding pavilian and met with a wedding planner there. We really wanted our wedding to be there, but realized it would be a lot to ask of our guests. We just love disney, and I think if it is done right it could still be a very elegant touch to a wedding. It could be a great theme!

Re: Poll: Disney themed wedding

I like the Disney theme to an extent. I would not go overboard because some could take as a little too cheesy and in my opinion it is not that elegant for a wedding. JMO!!! I dislike anything that is overdone. IE: doing all pink (Trista & Ryan) etc. In the end it is your day and whatever makes you both happy is what counts

Re: Poll: Disney themed wedding

i am doing beauty and the beast! we have a lenox peice, the invites , the candy bar wrappers(i made the wrappers and the programs too much money to get it done) and camera post will have a pic. the setting cards have the rose and the programs have a rose ... as for music, be our guest will be played at diner time and the theme song will be played as the last slow song of the night! have fun, i want to go all out nut my mom says it's already to much! but at this point i would agree it was too much money! if you really want to do it try doing some things by yourself like i did!

Re: Poll: Disney themed wedding

Disney has been the theme of my and my FH relationship, so why not bring it into our wedding as well.. It was our first vacation as a couple, we got engaged there and of course we are honeymooning there (and the cruise!!). We already have the cake topper and are going to have Mickey and Minnie invitations. Not too sure what else, but mostly simple hints of disney

Re: Poll: Disney themed wedding

I like the idea of incorporating Disney into the theme, I like the topiaries, I like the idea of the cake topper/seating cards.

I'm not so sure about Mickey & Minnie wedding invitations. Perhaps using Cinderella/Prince Charming wedding invitations? It would be (IMO) a bit more elegant looking.

I would also not go overboard. You don't want a theme overshadowing your and your FI's personal styles.
