Re: Poll- which dress for beach wedding?

As a big busted woman myself I would DEFINATLY go with something strapless. When I walked into my dress salon the first thing the consultant said to me was No Straps, No Halter Top, No Sleeves - First concern - it will shorten you - (I'm only 5'2' ) - you want to see the bride not the dress - Second concern - thin straps like that will only further accentuate the fullness not complement it. With the right undergarment (a small corset) a strapless dress would be a better choice for my body size. (This is what my dress consultant told me.)

I was all set to get a dress with a strap to hold my chest up but found that skinny straps dug into my shoulders even with a corset on and really broke up the line of my neck and shoulders. I found the strapless option to be much more flattering. Now the dress I bought has a corset built into it and I don't have to wear anything underneath it.

You are a small person - at a beach wedding you should show off your shoulders! Go and try on a bunch of dresses.

I did a search for you on the Maggie Sottero web site (maggiesottero.com) for slim a-line dresses and found quite a few that are very similar to what you were looking at. Most of her dresses have the built in corset! It's so nice to know that I will be free of all undergarments above the waist. Yipee!

WOW!! Thanks so much. I really do need to try them on. The thing about this particular strapless dress is it's not structured at all. Certain strapless bridal gowns are very structured and I wouldn't be so concerned than. I love some of these dresses you found. Thanks so much!!

Re: Poll- which dress for beach wedding?

you want to go with the strapless if you're big busted...the spaghetti straps will make your chest look HUGE...I was told to stay away from spaghetti straps bc of my chest...good luck!

Re: Poll- which dress for beach wedding?

the first one has a better shape to it... you can always have straps added if you would be more comfortable with it.
