I had a fabric and color in mind and let them pick any dress in that fabric by any designer. They all picked the Jim Heljm 3635 dress in blush chiffon.

We all went shopping together and chose. We got them off the rack at Lord and Taylor.

My advice to you is take ONE person to go look at dresses. In the end it is what you want and not what they think they look best in . I had a big wedding party and the first time i took 4 girls with me and BOY WHAT STRESS. I had one girl tell me she would only wear a 2 piece and then another who refused to put anything on. The next visit i brought one (my sister), she tried on every dress I asked her too and then I DECIDED what they were going to wear. However, i did wait to bring them to check it out before making my final decision and they all like it (some more then others).


I was in a wedding party where the bride took the MOH and she got dresses that looked GREAT on the MOH but no one else. I didn't care, i threw the thing out after the wedding but never said anything to her!!!

I looked online and then went shopping with one BM. We found a fabulous dress and were ready to spread the news to the rest of the BP when we learned that another BM would be 7 months pg at the wedding.

So, then I went shopping with another BM to look for dresses that would go with maternity BM dresses. Then, I brought the pg BM shopping and had her try on a few.

In the end, I decided amongst ones that the pg BM was comfortable with.

I asked them to wear long black dresses. They can choose their own dress. I have zero stress about it and I know they'll all look great.

I couldn't vote...

I picked a few I liked and then took my some of my BMs to see them...took 3 to try them on and decided once I saw the dresses in person.

Dress was good for all...and to date...all but one of my 7 girls got to try on the sample. Everyone seems to like it so I am happy.

All I chose was the color I wanted.....then I let them have the fun of picking which dress they liked best.......

I did!! My mom wanted me to see if the girls like it, but I said NO because inevitabley SOMEONE will have a problem with something. I didnt pick a dress that was way out there...and it turned out that all the girls like it

I decided to do separates and I let my MOH and each of my BM pick out what style they would feel comfortable in. The only thing I really care about is the color. Other than that they can wear whatever they want.

Mainly my MOH/sister and myself together....it is hard for her to find dresses that look right on her so I wanted her to be comfortable. Once we found a dress we both liked and looked great, I decided on the color and that was it!

I picked the color, they picked out the individual styles. I had all ages and shapes, so I could not find one that suited everyone.

I would have to say everyone. My mom, my sister (MOH), and I went to look at dresses. I had my sister try on over 50 and we narrowed it down to 5. My mom & sister loved dress A and I picked dress B. Then I took the rest of my girls and they tried on the 5 plus a couple of others and all loved A the best. It was very flattering on all of them. I actually liked A better too, but thought my other girls wouldn't wear it (one of my closest friends told me she refused to wear strapless and guess what? the dress ended up being strapless) and it wouldn't look as good on them as on my sister, but I was pleasantly surprised. So everyone was happy in the end!

We are all going to look at dresses together but it will ultimately be MY choice - at least as far as COLOR is concerned. We will more than likely choose ONE dress manufacturer and then each bridal party member will choose a design of dress that suits them. As long as they are the same color and fabric and length (and all ORDERED at the same time), it is fine. One might like a halter style, one might like a strapless and another might like a tank.

I just don't want different dresses from different companies because if they are off by a dyelot, it can and will show up in pictures under lights when they are all standing together..I had that experience as a bridesmaid where my dress was cut from a different bolt of fabric and was noticeably different from the rest of the dresses in the bridal party - and we wore the SAME DRESS! Needless to say they had to remake my dress in a rush.

my bridesmaids of course. Their all different sizes, so i had them pic 2 different dresses.

Me and my local bridesmaids (3 out of 6) went every weekend for several weeks. Luckily, we all had fun but I know that could possibily be a recipe for disaster.

I only have one BM and one MOH.....so they picked a dress they both like (different) nut same color & same material. Oh yes and I LOVE it!
