I love this thread cause I LOVE reading! My all time favorite books are by Sophie Kinsella (shopoholic series....she came out with shopoholic and sister yesterday and I am already on chap 6)
I also loved:
The Red Tent
Bridgette Jones' Diary
Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe
THe Sacrifice of Tamar
Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas

And soooo many more!

there's a new shopaholic book?!?!!??!?!

I must go buy!

I am a teacher too and you dont want to get me started on my favorite children's books cause I could be typing for a year. But here are a couple:
Those Summers by Aliki
Eleven by Sandra Ciseneros
Because of Wynn Dixie by (oh no i just forgot)

I LOVED She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb
I'm a big fan of girly novels (the Shopaholic series, and Can You Keep a Secret?) My all time favorite, however, is Summer Sisters by Judy Blume

I also tend to read a lot of children's novels, IE harry potter, Stargirl, Charlottes Web, ect.

OMG ours are almost exactly alike. I LOVED She's Come Undone too!! I also loved Summer Sisters. I read a lot of children's books too, teaching ad all. My favorite is Holes by Louis Sachar. I also loved The Giver.

OOHHH! I loved the Giver - Lois Lowery was one of my favorite authors when I was in 5th/6th/7th grades.

My favorite one of her's was Autumn Street

Ok, I'm a huuuuge reader, so I can't say one book...I'll say....anything written by
Henry Miller (tropic of cancer, tropic of capricorn, sexus, nexus etc...)
Milan Kundera (The Unbearable Lightness and all his others....)
Paulo Coehlo(The Alchemist and all his others...)
Anais Nin(Henry Miller and her were lovers and she wrote a lot about it)
Andre Gide(Very philosophical)
