Re: Villa Lombardi

Hi brides-to-be!(and grooms too) My fiance and I have just begun our search for a reception hall. Does anyone have any feedback, good or bad about Villa Lombardi's? We went for an initial consultation and the price was high but if the food & service are as good as they say, it might be worth it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Do I need to customize each woman's corsage to match their dress or can I pick something rather neutral that will work for everyone? I'll need to purchase approx 10 corsages......

The wedding is this March - late afternoon wedding, evening reception. Any and all suggestions are welcomed! : )

Villa Lombardi

i went to a weding at villa lombardi in 1998. it was nice, the food was good and so was the service but when i picked my caterer for my wedding villa lombardi was just too expensive.i think that with all the hype out about them they think they can charge exhuberant rates when another caterer can do a wonderful job but cheaper.

I think the wedding song list on the Home page is great! I'm curious, too, as to what other couples have chosen and why. Please share!!!

We're probably going to have Frank Sinatra's SUMMER WIND as our first dance song. He's a big Sinatra fan, and we met at a summer camp nine years ago and only saw each other during the summers the first five year (as friends)...awwwwwe...how pukey :-)

Thanks for the info Michele! I am so glad to hear you are booking them. When is your wedding? Mine isn't for 2 years. We live right near Villa so we always assumed that it would be the place for us. We haven't gone to look anywhere else yet. Have you been to other halls? I would like to check out a couple more places in order to make some comparisons. Do you have any other suggestions or advice about them?

You know your guests - if the extra time would be valuable to you or your guests, then send them early!

Any and all feedback would be very appreciated!

jackie- i was at a wedding a few years ago at villa lombardi. i remember the food being incredible. before you book your wedding - go look at jericho terrace in mineola. i am getting married there in july. the food is excellent (similar to the food at villa lombardi)it also has a similar decor and excellent service. the owners are wonderful and really worked with me.

We saw Dante at the expo the other night and they definitely had a nice selection. Also, the guy at the booth was very helpful, We went down today and booked our tuxes for July and were able to try tuxes on in the store.

I wish you all the best (its not easy, i know). Let me know how you make out. :)

Thanks for the tip Lorraine. I have heard wonderful things about Jericho. I will definitely check them out. thanks again

I really need to find someone in the Smithtown area who can come and do make-up for me and my 3 girls. I'm desperate at this point. I need her at approx. 7:30am in the morning.

I got this formula from USABride.com. They have a tip of the day that you can have sent to your e-mail if you want. If not you can just get on their site and look at the tips. Some of their ideas are pretty good.

Villa Lombardi

Does anyone know where I can get a picture or more information on Villa Lombardi?

Try the Bellport Country Club in Bellport- they are catered and owned by the same people from the Irish Coffee Pub. Great staff - ask for Niall (nile) They are very helpful and flexible with price if you are flexible with the date. They also do a great job at the Coffee Pub itself! Another option -Port Jeff country club - March is only 59$ per head.

Unfortunately, they don't have a web site to visit. Do you have the Locations book? It lists all different reception halls and lists Villa. I have visited Villa recently and gotten some information. I am looking to get married on a Sat in either May or June in 2002. They quoted me a price of $105/person guaranteeing them 240 people. I don't know what other info you are looking for. Hope this helps.

If you can give us a price range--type of ambiance you want--location(nassau or suffolk)and how many people you are having we can come up with some great places for you to check out :).....

Thank you. I'm on the West Coast trying to get East Coast info and I finally found them listed via digitalcity.com and now have an address, phone number and map!! They were hard to locate! Oh! that may via Yellow Pages under Caterers, too? It was a long search! Thanks again, Have a Happy Wedding!

We are using them too. I got a price of 1100 for a superstretch 12-14p and a 6-8 person limo. One limo is for 4 hrs and one is for 3hrs.

They were one of the most reasonable companies we saw.

I HAVE BEEN THERE FOR A FEW FIRE DEPARTMENT FORMALS AND THE FOOD WAS SOSO.IF YOU ARE WILLING TO GO A LITTLE EAST TRY GEORGIOS IN BAITING HOLLOW . I THINK IT IS MORE STUNNING THAN VILLA AND THERE IS ONLY ONE AFFAIR AT A TIME SO YOU WILL NEVER RUN INTO ANOTHER BRIDE / IT IS FAMILY OWNED AND THE FOOD IS GREAT I AM BOOKED FOR SEPTEMBER THERE

Apparently there is a resort on Negril, Jamaica called Swept Away. Our travel agent has recommended it. Does anyone know anything about this particular resort? The web page looks really nice.....
