Re: Reception Hall Suggestions - New on board

Stewart Manor is definitely good if you're on a tight budget but still want a good place. I did a tasting there of five hot dishes. It was whatever the couple getting married that day picked out b/c they brought plates of each one to us. The food was good, except for the kielbasa. But I don't normally like that anyway. (I wasn't there during the wedding, just an hour before it started to do a sample.)

Caffe on the Green is supposed to have really good food also.

Re: Reception Hall Suggestions - New on board

Also, my friend attended a wedding at Sandcastle, and she just thought the place was kind of cheesy. That's just her taste though, I've never been there.

Re: Reception Hall Suggestions - New on board

Near the Swan Club is the Sans Souci. It's a beautiful place & great food. You may as well check it out if you're going to look at the Swan Club.

Re: Reception Hall Suggestions - New on board

Our wedding was at Stewart Manor and we were happy with every aspect of the food and service.

San Souci has outstanding food!

The Meadow Club in Port Jeff is really nice, inexpensive and the food is delish.

Re: Reception Hall Suggestions - New on board

I second the Woodbury Country Club, not just because I'm getting married there, but because I found that I was offered MORE there for the same price or LESS than other places already mentioned on this thread. Good luck with whatever you decide and welcome to the mayhem that is known as LIW!

Re: Reception Hall Suggestions - New on board

I would recommend the North Ritz Club, I thought that the interior was very elegant and not overdone, it's one event at a time - you have the whole facility to yourself, they have an outdoor ceremony location in addition to an indoor ceremony room, cocktail hour room, and main ballroom, they have a very nice outdoor patio area. And It is around your price range, may be a little bit more, but not much, check them out. They are on Jericho Turnpike in Syosset. very convenient.

We had our wedding at the Stewart Manor, I loved it. The food the service and the atmosphere. It was perfect for us, we only had 100 people.

Re: Reception Hall Suggestions - New on board

I can recommend the SandCastle as having a beautiful room for your reception. You'd have to have it in the smaller of the 2 rooms if you are only having 150, the Skylight room, which is very beautiful. The decor of the main ballroom (where mine will be) doesn't appeal to everyone, I guess, because it's doesn't have that generic catering hall look. I did a tasting and the food was excellent. Their menu is extensive and I've heard nothing but good things.

FM me if you want info on pricing or more details. I have tons of pics that I took with my digital camera too.
