Re: Reception Location Confusion

1 thing I can say-I went to a wedding at Giorgios and the B&G both thought that it was going to be too far for people to drive on friday------they wound up with more people then they expected

Re: Reception Location Confusion

My two suggestions are
1-the Stewart Manor country club in Garden City... they were super nice and had a more intimate feel - they fit up to 220 i think... i was afraid it would be too small for me.

2-the Larkfield Manor - this is a little more 'catering hall' but it really is beautiful, my brother got married there in June and people are still talking about it and aksing me how my wedding is going to compare (yes, that is really annoying) but his wedding was so awesome, i can't necessarily complain about it.... and the yhad so much food they could have probably fed a nation....

eta that both are very reasonable priced

Definitely try North Ritz, Royalton and Thatched Cottage...

Royalton was $175 pp on a Sat nite in June but only $130 pp on a Friday night... VERY elegant...

Thatched Cottage was b/w 90 - 100 pp June thru October.... rustic from the outside but very pretty inside...

I don't know price for North Ritz but my FSIL got married there and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!

HTH, Good luck!!!

TOTALLY go see the North Ritz - I LOVE IT
I am having my wedding there and NO ONE in my family or ANY of my friends have been there at that was really important to me. The place is beautiful, one wedding at a time, reasonable and the food and service are BEYOND 5 star. I am not being biased either, I have NEVER seen even the slightest bad review of them and have always heard not just good but RAVE reviews - plus I have attended 2 holiday parties there and they were fabulous

Go see it - it's on Jericho Tpke in Syosset but once inside you would NEVER KNOW
516-921-4000

I attended a wedding there and I have to say that while the food is OK, the staff is not that friendly...the waitstaff that actually interacts with your guests. I was put off completely by their unprofessional behavior and by the MD who was stuck in the 80s in his Miami VIce-esque suit...he looked like a guest, not an employee. The food wasn't as wonderful as I'd heard either.

Re: Reception Location Confusion

biased, but......

the metropolitan. the price is good, one wedding at a time, and it's a different looking type of place. not old and rustic, but not modern. it looks like a nyc lounge. very cool, and amazing food.

Re: Reception Location Confusion

I went to a wedding at Thatched Cottage which was wonderful

I had my wedding at Crest Hollow country club...now it is up to 3 weddings at a time but I never saw anyone else the day of my wedding.
Its elegant but rustic (it had lots of wood accents/pillars)
Wonderful outside tree lined driveway, pool area etc.

Could be worth checking into!

Re: Reception Location Confusion

If you want simple elegance at a reasonable price, definitely check out Tall Grass. It's a bit of a hike, but I'm making my guests travel!! My FH and I went there and booked it on the spot...We're getting married October 22. We also wanted a place that not every other person was married at. And it's one wedding at a time.
Good luck, whatever you decide. I'm sure you'll find a place you can agree on.

I second the Hamlet...one wedding at a time...simple decor..I am obviously bias ( I am getting married there next week) I tis definately less well know, not super expensive etc...FM me if you want more details.

I am also getting married at Wind Watch, it seems to meet a lot of your critiera...One wedding at a time, a country club setting, nice CH and it isn't as well known as many other places. The price is very good, not exactly cheap, but def. not as pricey as some other places. It also has a hotel on premis which is very convienent for OOT.
Check it out...you can also FM me if you would like more info.

Re: Reception Location Confusion****UPDATE****

We had some trouble deciding on a hall but when we walked into the Coral House we both fell in love with it. Everything was very good and the prices are very reasonable.
We went to a wedding at the North Ritz in March and were very impressed by it - it was a really nice place.
We were also at a wedding at the Milleridge in March and that was also beautiful. I know the prices were not bad and everything at both receptions went well.
Good luck!

Re: Reception Location Confusion****UPDATE****

I was married last year at Bridgeview Yacht Club it's a worth while place to check out. Great food/service, one event at a time, not a typical catering hall.
Their website is not soo good so don't judge them on that. good luck with your search.
