Rehearsal Dinner in Suffolk

How about some places in Suffolk? Our church is in Medford.

Also, I've read all the etiquette websites on who to invite to the dinner. On my side, we have about 15 (wedding party + spouses and children) plus 10 close out-of-towners....What's everyone else doing? I really hate that the out of town guests will be holed up in a hotel room....

Bring your appetite! The cocktail hour is very lavish and during the reception, you have a choice of entrees, or you can sample all of them! Never heard of a place that will offer guests seconds of their entree! Just expect to pay for this. I negoitated a better rate by having a daytime wedding and he knocked off an additional $3/person...which with 185 guests is a savings of $555!

Rehearsal Dinner in Suffolk

I'm partial to the Setauket/Stony Brook/Port Jeff area. You could try the 3 Village Inn...I love Pentimentos in the SB Village Center but 25 people might be too large of a group for them (worth asking)...The Elk Street Grille (behind Starbucks) down in PJ is also very nice and they have a little alcove where you can be set apart from the rest of the area.

I think it is customary to invite your out of town guests to the rehersal dinner. But 10 people is a hefty coin....so if you can't swing it, be sure to send them a welcome basket to their room and maybe host a brunch for all of them at some point. Good luck!

Rehearsal Dinner in Suffolk

That's a great idea....My fiancee is from Stony Brook, so we know where all those places are....

A welcome basket is a nice idea...what do you put into it? There is also a restaurant in the hotel, so that might be an option also....

Rehearsal Dinner in Suffolk

I'm not quite sure - I need to put a few together myself! LOL!

Hmmm....I'm sure a nice fruit & cheese platter with a bottle of wine would be nice....if the room has a coffee maker, you could send a nice basket with biscotti, coffee, mugs (with either wedding stuff inscribed or local touristy kinda messages)...a small note from the 2 of you should also be included. The hotel might even be able to pull this together for you.....or...

Since you're in the area, I'd suggest contacting Elegant Eating for suggestions on an arrangment. They used to be in the Waldbaum's shopping Center off Hallock on 347 but have now expanded into a bigger shop on 347 further east (towards Smithtown ont he south side of the road). They have really, really nice stuff & are very creative with their packages. I've used them for work and have received many complements.

Rehearsal Dinner in Suffolk

I'm also looking for rehearsal dinner locations in Suffolk but Stony Brook may be too far for me - I live closer to Huntington. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

The bridal salon will let you know when to come in for your first fitting. I was told by my salon that I should expect to hear from them at the beginning of April (my wedding is 1st weekend in June). But, I got a card last week telling me to come in this Saturday. I called to confirm the appointment & they said that because they have so many June brides, they're starting early. My advice is call your bridal salon & ask.

Don't worry about losing extra weight, you usually go for at least 3 fittings. They can always take the dress in a little more.
