it was a combo of things for me - the one wedding at a time was a big seller plus the hall itself is abslutely stunning - i loved the bridal suite - having a really nice one was on my top 10 list
but what really cinched it was the banquet manager and the look in her eyes when i told her the theme - i knew she would run with it right that is what sold me on it

DITTO about the one wedding at a time. And we wanted something warm and cozy yet elegant and classy. We knew immediately that it was the place.

Totally! When I walked into that room I just fell in love. Windows all around, hardwood floors... The other place I really liked was Glen Island Harbour Club

The old world charm of the old mansion, and the ballroom is beautiful. It felt very intimate.

I knew it when I pulled up - my friend was working there at the time and I went to visit her. I fell in love with Flowerfield - it was just so different than any other places that my friends had gotten married at (plus the food is incredible). The cocktail hour room with the pond and bridge, the reception area with all the windows and overlooking such gorgeous grounds, and the view outside the windows at night just got me. Also one wedding at a time was definitely a bonus.

It was worth every cent I paid for it - I'd do it again in a heartbeat. They exceeded my expectations and really made myself, DH and our family feel like royalty.

i really liked the idea of having my wedding at an old mansion, so i looked around at a bunch, and the vanderbilt had everything i was looking for:

1) a BEAUTIFUL location for an outdoor ceremony (two locations to choose from, actually)

2) it was on a body of water

3) in case of rain, the alternate ceremony space is also beautiful (the glass conservatory)

4) the cocktail hour room and ballroom were both very simple and elegant - beautiful hardwood floors, gorgeous original fireplaces... though i wanted the old mansiony feel, i didn't want anything too ornate or chintzy.

5) THE FOOD!!!! lovin oven is the caterer and we were SO impressed with the food that we booked them immediately after tasting it.
