Ringing bells instead of throwing seed?

I've been looking for something to give my guests that doesn't require clean up for after the ceremony.

I've seen the tiny bells in ads & in craft stores - I also saw a sleigh bell on a pre-printed card. Has anyone used them or is planning on using them? (I'm weary about using bubbles b/c if someone spills the soap, it could be a slipping hazard).

Any feedback would be appreciated - thanks!

Ringing bells instead of throwing seed?

My cousin used bells at her wedding. There were about 4 or 5 tiny bells in a little tulle sack with a ribbon around it. They actually were to tiny though, you hardly heard anything. I would recommend bigger bells.

You could have a flower girl or ring bearer, or even an adult hand them out to the guest from a little basket, as they exit the church after the receiving line.

You have a good point about slipping on the bubbles.

Ringing bells instead of throwing seed?

Hi Karen: My sister-in-law had bells, but she got them at Macy's they weren't wrapped at all. They were a pretty decent size. There is a site on here for favors somewhere. They sell them. My sister-in-laws video came out really nice with the sound. DON'T USE BUBBLES. If a bubble lands on your GOWN, you have to wear it all day with soap stains and it doesn't come out easily. It happened to someone I know.

Does anyone have any info on the Allergro or Sandles resorts? Apple vacations? We're interested in Aruba/Turks & Caicos/Cozumel....

Any and all feedback would be very appreciated!

You know your guests - if the extra time would be valuable to you or your guests, then send them early!

Any and all feedback would be very appreciated!

Ringing bells instead of throwing seed?

I used bells at the church and at the reception. I ordered little ones with cards attached, they were real cute but like someone mentioned-- too small to hear. I would also suggest using larger ones.

I confronted my mother-in-law to be...confronted my fiance and said "small" or nothing....after much bickering and arguing...we're having a fairly small brunch at the Three Village Inn..they do almost everything for you....honestly if they didn't...I'd just elope...if you all let this five hour event make you sick...you won't have the strength to survive the first battle over whose house you are going to spend the holidays at.....Take your vitamins......and good luck...JessicaE

Ringing bells instead of throwing seed?

Thanks for letting me know - I was looking at buying the same ones! I thought about tying 2 together but it didn't make much of a difference. (I found them at Party City just w/o the ribbon).

Thanks for letting me know!

Ringing bells instead of throwing seed?

I USED BELLS AT OUR WEDDING IN DEC, I THOUGHT OF THEM CAUSE I WANTED TO GO WITH A CHRISTMAS THEME. I WENT TO MAKE A MEMORY IN MINEOLA AND THEY FOUND SLEIGH BELLS THAT WERE A NICE SIZE THEN THE MADE GOLD SNOWFLAKES AND ATTACHED THEM TOGETHER THEY HAD A SAYING ON THE BELLS THAT THEY SHOULD RING THE BELLS AT THE CHURCH AND THEN RING THEM AT THE RECEPTION. IT WAS A NICE POEM. EVERYONE THOUGHT THAT WAS A GREAT IDEA AND NO CLEAN-UP WAS NEEDED. I WOULD DEFINELTY GO WITH THE BELL IDEA BUT MAKE SURE THAT IT IS EASY FOR THE PEOPLE TO RING THE BELLS.....

We saw Dante at the expo the other night and they definitely had a nice selection. Also, the guy at the booth was very helpful, We went down today and booked our tuxes for July and were able to try tuxes on in the store.

I wish you all the best (its not easy, i know). Let me know how you make out. :)

Ringing bells instead of throwing seed?

Hi I am going with bells as well. I havent decided how I am going to present them at the church. Tying them in tule sounds like a nice idea. I am a sap and all I could think of is the movie "It's a Wonderful Life". The saying from the movie -everytime you hear a bell ring an angel gets its wings.- The guests can bring them to the reception too and use them instead of banging the glasses. A craft store (Fantasy Land in Patchogue) might be a good place to look for them. Let me know if you find them.

yuck!@! that is no way to do business!! i will relay the message to my FSIL :) thanks

Ringing bells instead of throwing seed?

I think I'm just as sappy as you Concetta because I thought the same. My bells unfortunately weren't big enough to hear at our reception so our guests reverted to the glasses anyway :( All I thought was holy moly they are banging on Lenox LOL
