Re: Ron Ben Israel cake
Gail Watson was the most reasonable out of the three you asked about. Sylvia and Ron and around the same range - at least for the cake I want. Also wanted to add for the girls who asked about the Scotto Halls and bringing cakes from outside - last night at my final menu meeting they told me I just need to sign a waiver and that the vendor doesn't need a specific type of insurance. Just thought I would share....

Here's her web page - http://www.gailwatsoncake.com
We met with her on a weeknight & it was very easy to get an appointment. She is very down to earth & has a ton of books to show you. She is quiet & reserved & not in your face or pushy. If I did it again I'd ask if I could come 30 min early just to look through her books. I felt weird because we looked through the books & there really isn't much to say while you do that. She truly makes it simple. She'll go over flavors, past customer’s experiences & custom design stuff right there for you.
I told her I wanted something traditional, but contemporary, elegant & romantic but not cheesy. In - no joke - 2 min she drew the perfect cake. She designed a hexagon shaped cake, light scroll/lace design coming up the sides, our monogram scrolled on one focal point area, a bunch of sugar flowers on the top (burgundy hydrangeas, white parrot tulips with a light air brushing of pink & sage, & French pink & champagne English garden roses) & then small bunches along the edges of the different layers. She even came up with a lace design right there - not too frilly but not to plain – just elegant.
It's worth the trip even if it's just for the ideas & to get a look at her books for ideas!

Re: Ron Ben Israel cake
I forgot to mention this! Gail Watson also does Cake Kits. A friend of mine did this & it came our great! She provides the flowers, fondant icing if it's needed, pictures, & step y step instructions. The hall makes the cake, ices it if its buttercream & decorates following the pictures & directions. This is one she had but she got it with burgandy & pink flowers.
