Schedule for the big day

Now for the time frames. This is so difficult to plan when to get your hair done, will you have enough time for pictures. AAGGGHHH!!!

I thought I had it and then the photographer told me it will take 3 1/2 hours for pics, I said let's do 2 1/2 because I have a small wedding party and small family.

This may sound like a silly question but where and how does one get their hair done so early? If we go with the plans we are making, the church will have to be at 11:00!!! I love the way the girl I go to cuts my hair but I hate how she styles it...this is an important thing to consider, I think. Thanks

I am very sorry to see you all go. I will continue to check this board although not as often as before. My wedding is in 2 months and I am sad that this board has turned into such a mess just when I need everyone's advice the most. As I have posted before, I have truly enjoyed many of the ladies (and gents)advice and ideas. It is sad that most of the posts on this board are now hostile.

I have the same problem. My church is at 12pm, but 30 minutes from the house. I am starting hair at 7:30am (my girlfriend is doing it). I love the way my haircutter highlights and cuts my hair, but I hate her up-do's, I need a different girl for my bridesmaids because my friend doesn't have time as she needs to go home and get ready. So.... I spoke to the manager in the shop, asked her if the girl next to mine (whose up-do's I love) could come to my house. She asked her, no-one in the shop has to know and walla, she is coming to my home. As each girl finishes hair,she will move over to the make-up artist. We should be done by 10am. Photoghraper is 10:15ish to 11/11:15is at home and then were off. The rest of my pictures will be at the cocktail hour out in the garden.

Hair Salons

You can ask the salon if they will come in earlier, it usually will cost an extra $10 or so. I think prices for up-do's are outrageous, it's more than a haircut. But I guess they can charge it becuase they know we will pay it. I have my appointment at Bocu in Islandia. My sister has had about 4 up-do's from there. She recommends Lauren or Geri.

They do charge a lot. I don't even know if I'm paying too much, but my girls thought $40.00 per girl and she is coming to the house was great. Good Luck. Sometimes it's a little cheaper at the house because the owner has no over-head to charge and she can make the money free and clear of the shop. Good Luck

Please! I still have to book makeup and Hiar. I know- everyone recommends J bari but her prices are out of my range!

I'm getting married at the CBC 8/20/00. I, too, fell in love with the place! I'm using lots of daisies and my colors are a soft yellow and white. I was think about using pillar candles too. Glad to hear positive things. I still have to pick a florist and photographer. Our band is Boc and Blu. Please let us know how things go for you. I'm sure it'll be wonderful. I had my make-up trial tonight by Dawn Allissa - on this site. She was wonderful. She accomodated me even though I drove her crazy, but her prices are great and she is a sweetheart.
