More power to them
FH would be asking for a divorce before marriage if I tried that

just in my opinion of course... but if you have to abstain to make the wedding night better, one can't really have to much imagination in bed......![]()

Guys I have a very disturbing story to tell you all about this topic!
I use to work taking care of elderly nuns in a convent. Well they all knew I was getting married, there were 12 of them, and one of the oldest nuns and one of the most sweetist ones there asked me about my FH. What he looked like, was he good to me, then she asked, 'do you sleep with him often?' by the way shes 90!And then she asked if he satisfied me.
Well before you could say hail mary, my face was ten shades of red![]()

.
I answered:' Sister with all due respect, although I'm not of your faith, I'm convinced that if I answer your question I shall be stuck by lighting and fall though the earth in to the hell for sure.' She laugh and sent me off!
Sex talk with 90 yr old english-irsh nun is NEVER a good idea!

Re: Sex: What are you doing? You have to hear what i Heard!
I have had a lot of friends that did this. I think that people abstain because they want it to feel special and exciting as husband and wife, for you to feel a newness about your marriage.Honestly, I think that this would be stressful, trying to sleep next to someone and not be intimate. But I see the benefits as well. The jury is still out on this one.

No way, no how.....it will be the only thing that will calm me down before the wedding!!!
My thoughts EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!
I don't see the purpose, it'll be a special night bc it's the first time as DH & DW!! Not bc you abstained for X amount of time prior.

Well my FMIL mentality is that we shouldn't even have sex ever until our wedding night.
That line didn't work when I was 17 by my uncle it won't work now that I'm 25!

Re: Sex: What are you doing? You have to hear what i Heard!
Personally I don't see the point! Like others have said, no matter what, the wedding night & the HM are going to be special bc you are starting your new lives together! But to abstain for any amount of time on purpose, I can't see the point but everyone has their own visions!Plus, sleeping next to FH every night & not being able to do anything, I think both of us would not be able to resist

Since we are having a Buddhist wedding, a Buddhist monk told us we should refrain for 30 days before the wedding. FH (the REAL Buddhist here!) was like - nu -uh - not happening!!!

Funny subject, but I was talking to a couple of friends of mine and we were talking about being a virgin and all that before you got married..blah blah blah...what I found out was that a lot my friends refrained from sex like 2 to 4 months before they got married...(which explains their craziness and mood swings) I was SO surprised..They said it would make for a better wedding night or honey moon....jsut Throwing it out on the boards!!!...thought I would share...I don't know if FI would handle that well!

My FH does not know it yet, but I would like to abstain for a while before the wedding. I think it would make for a better wedding night. let's hope he agrees with me.

FI will have a heart attack if I suggest months.....I'm trying to convince him that we shouldn't for at least a week and he's not trying to hear it![]()
Right there with you. You'd think I suggested months.

Re: Sex: What are you doing? You have to hear what i Heard!
I'm not abstaining, at least not on purpose. If it happens for a day or 2 (which it will because I'll be at my parents and with the last minute running around and RD), then fine. But to me to abstain for months or even weeks before our wedding afters years and years of engaging in fornication well, I don't need to be even more stressed, have him be cranky, put me in a bad mood and then it only last for 5 minutes on my wedding night because we haven't had it in awhile. And forget about him, I'm talking about me!

Re: Sex: What are you doing? You have to hear what i Heard!
My BM tried this before her wedding and it didn't last. I don't think that it works if you live together. FH I are still at home so it may work for a week or so...I have heard that you are so tired the night of the wedding anyway! I understand both sides but don't know how well it works!

I made Ed wait over 15 years. Thats enough torture for any man.(We met at a fratenity party drunk as skunks. I said no. He said fine. We met again on JDate over 15 years later and he got what he wanted.)

Re: Sex: What are you doing? You have to hear what i Heard!
Are you kidding!?!?!? I start to get so annoyed and become very short with people if I don't get any after like a week. I joke around with FH if we go more than a week that my virginity is growing back! I'll pull my hair out if we attempt at going a few months!!!!
