Shoes

Ok. Here's a new one that I've never seen anyone ask about. What about shoes???? Where is a good place to go to get REALLY comfortable, but not outrageously expensive shoes? I can never find a pair that is truly comfortable, and if I am not allowed to wear KEDS under my dress, I need comfort!!

By the way - I noticed you chose Full House for your band - I was also interested in them. If possible could you please forward me any info. you may have or any recommendations for other bands. Thanks!!!

Avoid the hassle and stay away. Anyone know a good favor store?

Shoes

Sandys shoes has a good selection of dyeables. They are mostly plain though, they didnt have any (or only a few) with embroidered type designs. They do have bead or sequined trim you can add to any shoe. Located across from Massapequa train station on Sunrise highway. Cant vouch for comfort though....I dont think fabric shoes are comfortable at ALL. I actually had brought a pair there for about $50 including dying, but returned them (owners ar every nice and accomodating). Ended up getting leather pearly white slingback pumps with a low heel at Selby on Fifth ave in NYC. They match 'Diamond white' perfectly, but were more pricey at $135. TOTALLY comfortable.

Shoes

I just found out that there is a store in Patchogue right across from the Bridal Suite. I believe it's called Casa Mia, or something like that. I heard their shoes are awesome and 2 of my friends at work just bought their's there. Love them and price was great!

Shoes

The place is called Casa Di Mario. I was there last week and they had a large selection. There is also a place in Commack on Jericho Tpke. called Craft Shoes. They had an even bigger selection and offer deals for the bridesmaids and will dye back to black for you (check on that though). I am still trying to find a comfortable shoe. I found that a Mary Jane type are very comfortable (and affordable at Craft - only $49!) but the platform Mary Janes are not very stable but more fashionable. I'm confused.

Shoes in Queens

If you're willing to go to Astoria/Steinway Street, there is a store called "Dying for you". I bought the MOST COMFORTABLE SHOES - simple pumps w/ a slight platform and lots of support and cushion - for $65!!!

That includes the initial dye for the dress and then afterwards, they'll dye it black for free.

: ) Email me directly if you need more info.

Shoes on Long Island

I am not sure if it is the same but there is a Dyeing for you on Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst. They have a large selection of shoes.

This might sound outrageous but check Payless Shoes. A friend of mine got her bridal shoes there (they were plain but very cushiony) as well as her bridal party and they took them elsewhere to have them dyed.

I am all for wearing Keds. But no one else agrees with me. Good Luck.

Trust me when I say that I agree 110% with keds. The place where I bought my dress even had a pair of keds dressed up with lace ribbons. I was vetoed by both my mother and fiance. (who really sees your feet anyway?????) So I must go with the traditional and slip off the shoes at the reception (what they can't see won't hurt them!!

My sister-inlaw wore decorated isotoner slippers as soon as the ceremony was over (her crafty Mom put beads, aplique etc)! No body noticed except the people she showed off to! At least she was comfortable.

Its a relatively small shop in size but I thought their selection was pretty extensive. If you're familiar with Steinway Street, its across the street from PastaFina & Baskin Robbins (off 30th Avenue).

I got my shoes at Verones (close to that) on Main Street in Sayville. They have a huge selection of shoes. I got a very compy pair for $55. It is called the "Cindy" and is apprently the most popular bridal shoe. They were very helpful (the owners not the shoes!)

Good luck! : )

shoes in bklyn?

have to be Ivory, though. Makes it a bit tougher to find. I have looked at the fancy stores here in Bensonhurst- but nothing has grabbed my eye yet. Also, I would like to spend under $75 for a pair.

I was looking for a small jazz-type band to play at our outdoor cocktail hour. Any suggestions?

Try a place called Money Savers on Flatbush Avenue in Marine Park (between Ave P & Quentin). They have a really good selection and are very helpful.

Good luck!

Cheap shoes!

I went to Payless shoes. Shoes are on sale. They just wanted to get rid of them I guess..I bought a pair for 5.00. The height might not work, but for $5.00, I figured it was worth the gamble. They no longer want to do wedding shoes..and they will not dye them. They are discontinuing their wedding shoes. I need mine for the wedding dress..so I bought a white satin pair..with no need for dye. I will wait for my fitting to see if the height works with the dress.. Crossing my fingers!

: )

If you are interested in candids, after viewing the whole portfolio, if you don't see any there ASK ABOUT IT. If it is important to you, you need to see it- and a few diff versions.
