Wow - FH has 2 kids - there is NO way I would want to go on a HM with them!!! I love them to pieces, but the HM is all about getting bizay....

that's what everyone keeps telling me

Well, not just that, but the kids require a lot of our time and energy - even though they are older - 15 and 9 - the 9 year old is needy... I just couldnt imagine FH and I trying to spend QT with each other, and alos give them the time and energy they need 0- i mean, when they are with us on the weekends - we focus a lot on them, and we rarely have time together as it is, you know?

Re: Should we take the kids on Honeymoon?

I think that it's a sweet idea to want to include the kids, especially as the 'new' family, but I think that your HM should be time for just you and FH. There will be other opportunities to do family vacations, and this time should be about the 2 of you alone, just enjoying each other. JMO

Re: Should we take the kids on Honeymoon?

My co-worker suggested I leave the baby and take my 4 year old, but I think it's unfair to take one and leave the other reguardless of age. I think my biggest concern is I've never left my childern with anyone besides their father for more than a few hours, a day at the most. It makes me a bit nervous to leave them for eight days, yet I could use the break. I think my FH is getting frustrated with the whole thing, he even hinted that to drive back and fourth and switch hotels would be too much and that maybe we should leave them behind. I was talking to me FMIL today and she said she'd be glad to keep the boys when we are gone and that if I wanted to I could leave them with her this weekend as a trial run. I'm still not completely sure, but I'll see what happens after the trail run, if I even go through with that. Knowing me I'll probably get arrested for peeping through my FMIL's windows.

Re: Should we take the kids on Honeymoon?

If it is important for you and fh to spend time with your children, then I don't see why you shouldn't. I really think you should take at least 5 days on your own...which it seams like you are planning on doing.

Why not after 5 days (or whatever length) you get the kids and do a day or overnight trip together. Is hershey park open that time of the year???? I wouldn't take the kids to the pocono's...not sure if there is enough to do....

good luck!!!

It is hard to leave your kids, but it seems like your FH really wants to be alone. Maybe make your HM shorter then 8 days. Then you won't be gone so long. Also, what are the kids going to do in the poconos. Not much to do!
