Re: Should we tip???
I'm glad you asked this, b/c I need to know too!We are having our roof replaced next week and were wondering if we are supposed to tip the workers.
I think it's not necessary, but what's the norm?

...we are paying almost $4,000 for this new tub and wall system! ...
This question is not to offend .. it's from someone who is struggling with figuring out how to be able to afford renovations .. so .. with that said .. with a price of almost $4,000 .. couldn't you redo an entire (small) bathroom (shower/tub combo) for that much?
As for the tip question .. hubby and I always struggle with this .. and generally will tip .. but we always end up asking ourselves .. 'what, are we made of money?' .. because we feel like we're always passing out extra to everyone.

Re: Should we tip???
I don't think tipping is necessary unless they give you something above what you paid for.

If it's his own business I don't think you need to.

Re: Should we tip???
I think 20-30 per worker is fair. I heard the install isn't even that difficult.$4000 sounds like a lot for BathFitter. I know its extremely difficult to do an entire bathroom for $4000 with gutting it out... but I thought Bath Fitter was supposed to be cheaper.

Re: Should we tip???
depending on what type of material you are getting and what is being done 4000 doesnt sound that high for bath fitter my mom just had the tub area done in a plain white and it was like 2500 so if you picked a higher grade material or having a large area done then 4000 isnt bad at all. but as far as 4000 for an entire bath remodel including new products and gutting its near impossible unless you used the lowest grade products available which you wouldnt want to do. i bought all my products at cost had all the work done at cost and it cost alot more then 4000

Re: Should we tip???
One of the first things I am going to do after I get married is some bathroom renovations. I may go the BathFitter route since I am in a co-op.I hope they don't quote me $4000. My bathroom isn't that large. I'd be willing to pay 2000. 3000 tops.

Re: Should we tip???
If you have nice tile on the shower wall, does this replace the tile with an acrylic wall or do you just replace the tub???I need a new tub, but want to keep my walls

Re: Should we tip???
Well actually, we are only paying now $3,500. It was originally $4,000 but they gave us an additional couple of hundred off because I asked them to do better on the price. So it was like $3,800. Then the tub got damaged last weekend (it was suppose to be done last weekend), so for our inconvenience, they gave us another $300.00 off. So it is now $3,500 with a year to pay no interest.Yes, we got all 'top of the line' stuff. I mean we went with the tile look not the flat wall, which is extra, we went with the marble look, which is extra, we got new faucets, etc. We got two soap dishes but the shower caddy thing..
If anyone is interested, please FM me and I will give you my salesmans name. He is great! He was even talking us out of some things becuase we can get them in Home Depot for 1/2 the price.. Very honest guy... We loved him. He will work with you the best he can on the price. I think my Mom is going to do this too becuase she lives in a co-op as well. I heard this is the way to go if you live in a co-op becuase you can't risk damagaing the person next to you, under you or whatever...
Let me know if anyone is intersted, we are so excited. It is going to be beautiful! I can't wait for my FIRST bubble bath! :) Also, the advantage of this is there is no grout, so you will never have mold or mildew again! All you have to do is wipe the walls down with windex, since they are non porous acrylic!.... :)
