not doing either. don't see the point as i won't do anything with it afterward. i will know who's there, i don't need them to sign in!

reminds me too much of a sweet 16 or bar mitzvah

I don't know that I'll do anything - but my friend had a great idea. She had pieces of really vibrant paper, and asked everyone to write a message to her and the groom. We wrote our note as we picked up our table cards, and put the notes into a big fishbowl. Now, she has some of the more meaningful notes framed throughout her house. Really cute idea!

ETA - I probably won't do anything....I'll know who was there - I invited them!

That is a great idea! For now, I plan not to have anything. I always have so many keepsakes from every event, and I am sure my wedding will be the same. I thought that the guest book will just be another thing to add to the pile. I save so much stuff. I won't be getting any kind of sign in thing unless someone gives me something.

ETA: For the idea above, you can even pre-select paper that goes with your home decor. Uh oh, I may have to change my mind about not having any type of sign in thing.

I'm doing a 'wish' bowl as well....I bought a huge brandy glass (pictured below) to put the notes in, and I'll put a little sign stating what guests should do with it! I'm so excited to see what people will come up with, most especially b/c I've got a bunch of really talented writers coming!

I will also have a guestbook, which I'm ordering from the guestbook.com. I don't want to do a photo board b/c I'm so OCD that I'd have to stand there and monitor the direction all the text is going in! I know, I'm sick.

This is gorgeous! Was the pic in it b4 guests signed it? Where did you purchase it and if you don't mind- what did it cost? I think it is very elegant.

I bought a memory book at Michael's with black pages and FH and I are going to place pictures on each page of us growing up, us dating, and us engaged and leave space for the guests to sign with the metallic pens we bought.

I got a plate

it has our names and wedding date on it. comes with a special pens for people to sign their good wishes. i love that it wont just be a book that gets tucked away but a keepsake that we can hang in our home to remember those that shared our special day with us.

i have 'worked' all of my college friends' weddings so i made sure to desigate them to make sure everyone signs in.

After the event, there are instructions on how to bake the plate so its permaent and even didshwasher safe....

We did a wish bowl, we're planning on reading all the notes tonight. We put it right on the table next to the placecards and many people visited it before they left too.

We got a book but I have to sasy it was such a waste. A friend of mine got the picture frame with the mat that everyone can sign and I think that was a lot better.

Ditto. I'm also putting them up on my website and plan on coupling them with pictures of those people from the reception as mini 'features'. I had some relatives who wanted to come but couldn't, so they're looking forward to sharing in the memories. I'm really looking forward to doing it too.
