Silk Tulle Veils, are they worth it? Where should I get a veil?

I'm just now starting to properly look into getting a veil after picking my dress.
Has anyone gotten a silk tulle veil? Is the material worth the price over normal tulle veils?

Where's a good place to buy a veil? I've seen a lot of people mention Barron's in Tri-County. Is the quality there good (material / workmanship)?

The veils that I tried on at the bridal shop where I got my dress weren't exactly what I want and really really expensive. They told me I could get a custom veil but I'd hate not seeing it before I ordered.

Any other recommendations?

Thanks!

Definately check out Barron's at Tri County. The work is amazing and there are so many styles to choose from. The prices are very reasonable as well.

I got my veil there and it had this great beading and scalloped edges, the color matched my dress perfectly.

In my humble opinion, veils are veils - as long as you love the way it looks, high-end fabric doesn't matter. I wouldn't spend a fortune on this particular item. A veil doesn't need to last a lifetime, it just needs to look nice for a few hours!

This exactly. I wouldn't (and didn't) spend extra money on the veil. I know people who have bought $15 veils off e-bay that were nicer than the $450 salon veils they were fashioned after.

I purchased my fingertip veil from Barron's bridal for $110 and loved it.

this is how I feel about it too - but I understand they're more important to some people and in that case I would suggest getting it from a salon or someplace like barrons.

I chose to go through an etsy vendor that had been mentioned on here (bellabridalveils). The process was easy once i knew the style of what I wanted (which i figured out while trying my dress on with a few veils at the salon). Connie worked with me to pinpoint exactly what I needed and sent it quickly. I am very happy with the quality and even happier about the price. it was 10% of what they wanted me to pay for a similar veil at the salon.

Re: Silk Tulle Veils, are they worth it? Where should I get a veil?

If you plan to be in the city, there are some great fabric and trim stores on West 39th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues. The best is Top Trimmings at 228 W. 39th on the south side of the street about halfway down the block - it has veils, headpieces and bridal hair accessories upstairs. Their prices are extremely cheap and they have some really nice things. I didn’t get my veil there, but I got an absolutely beautiful feather/beaded hair comb that I wore for the reception (I only wore my veil at church). It was a fraction of the cost of anything I saw in bridal salons, and even nicer! Good Luck!

Re: Silk Tulle Veils, are they worth it? Where should I get a veil?

i bought my veil at my bridal salon ONLY because it was the matching set for my gown and it was $800 and they gave it to me for $200

otherwise, i probably would have gone to Bridal Styles or Barron's

I got mine made at barrons and it was fine and came out beautiful in pics and I made is so the cathedral velcored off and I could just wear the fingertip on without messing up my hair (it was lined with swarovski crystal which is hard to see in these pics)

Re: Silk Tulle Veils, are they worth it? Where should I get a veil?

I have a silk tulle veil. I ordered it off ETSY from iheartbride. I wanted the silk because I liked the fine netting better than the regular tulle. Maybe some people wont notice, but I liked it better. I think the price was $180 for chapel length. I am changing the comb to the 'tuck' method. I didn't like the beading on the silk because it felt too heavy so we are re-making mine with a lace border instead.
