This is what she wrote back:

'it's ok mamita I understand how ever my husband won't be able to attend he has to work that day and since I don't drive I had asked my aunt and cousin to accompany me they do have a car and I thought it would be better for be to go with them. '

I'm writing back:

'If you want to come with either your aunt or your cousin you can't. I just can't do more than you and another person. I'm sorry

I just have to say, people are damn ballsy!!! I can understand inviting someone in his place if your hubby can't come, but to invite TWO other people is just totally rude. Sometimes I think people think that weddings are like backyard BBQs.

I had this happen with one couple that put 3 for their daughter to come with. It annoyed me but I made the room for 3. I think you shouldn't email this, but that's just my personal take.

My mom felt the same way and I totally understand it.

However, we just don't have the room and honestly the money to make these exceptions. Plus if I make an exception here I'd have to do it for everyone and our wedding would double in size. Also she was including her aunt and cousin....not even her kids. That's just a bit much. I can see wanting your kids to come..but your aunt and cousin??

I understand and it does make sense that if someone finds out you made the exception, they might make a stink, luckily the people I had to make the exception for were isolated, so I totally get your position and the aunt and cousin thing is just weirdddd!

lol....I used to say the same thing....

you handled it well...if they decide not to come...more money for you to save if they are the only one that do that then you are lucky!

How annoying! I had something similar happen, through the grapevine I heard my uncle who was invited with his new wife is bringing her 20 year old son who was not invited. It's my dad's brother so I'm letting him deal with it! People are seriously so clueless sometimes!I think your emails were worded perfectly, hope it turns out ok and noone gets their panties in a bunch!
