many brides don't do the bag anymore because they feel it seems tacky to walk around to the tables 'asking' for the money cards.
That's what we thought. Besides, as past brides know, it's very hard to get around to seeing everyone.

I would put the cards in the box, but give the money to someone you can trust like the best man, your parents, his parents, a maid of honor, BM, etc.. someone who won't lose it, or run off with it. You could also ask the place where you are having the reception if they have a safe to store it for you.

See if the hall has a locked safe in the bridal suite. we had this and we gave the cards to our BestMan and he put it in the safe for us.A side note, we went to a wedding were there was a card box, and the bride and groom did not go around to greet there guests. I guess they figured they did not have to because the gifts were bring put in the gift card box. I thought it was tacky they did not go around to there guests.
At our wedding we made it a point to say hello and greet our guests.

Don't most people give you the envelope towards the end of the reception? I usually give the bride & groom their gift sometime after they cut the cake.

Ditto! There was NO WAY I was going to carry around a 'gift bag' as I greeted my guests.

honestly, nothing is 'safe'. No matter what you have, there's always the remote possibility that an evelope could get stolen, or even just fall out and get lost.
i agree....actually it is easier to steal a bad of cards than a box...
