JULY 6 WEDDING REVIEW (FINALLY!)
Ok, sorry to add this as an afterthought, but here is the review of my wedding (finally!). Suffice it to say everything was absolutely WONDERFUL and made for a perfect day all around!! (and it didn't hurt that the weather cooperated and we had a beautiful sunny day!)Church - Christ the King in Commack. As the photos show, a beautiful place, brand new with amazing cherrywood pews and Italian marble everywhere. Just breathtaking. We loved our priest, too. If only the couple doing the rehearsal had been more with-it...but minor details...everything else was just gorgeous!
Hair - Cactus Salon in Commack. Many of you heard about my hair trial saga but when push came to shove, they did a fabulous job. They may not score points on attitude but they sure can do hair. I loved how I looked.
Makeup - Ditto for Jillian (Gorgeous Faces), who works out of Cactus, minus the attitude. Jillian is an absolute doll and did amazing things with makeup for both my mom and myself. I was so worried about looking overdone, but Jillian made us look so natural.
Dress - Couture Bridal, purchased at Lady Hamilton in Arlington, VA. Bridesmaids dresses are Jim Hjelm Occasions, purchased at the same place. I won't bother doing a review, since I know it's not really relevant since most of you live in NY.
Limos - Salmon Limousine. Friends of the family (I used to babysit for their kids) and they did a very nice job. One of the drivers was a little clueless, but, otherwise, everyone was where they needed to be, on time, and the limos and Rolls were clean and comfy (not to mention fully stocked! )
Flowers - Flower Michele. We all know how wonderful John is, but I was also so impressed with his staff that day too. The flowers arrived early, looking just lovely, and then, when my crazy family couldn't find the grandmother corsages at the church and my dad started calling John on his cell phone, the woman from Flower Michele went back to the church to make sure everything was ok. And I can't even begin to say what an incredible job she did with the fresh flowers on the cake. Even the picture I posted doesn't do it justice!!
Photo/Video - Imagine Studios. I can't WAIT to see the raw footage of the video and the photo proofs!Everyone kept commenting on how professional Lia and Nelson were and how the poses Lia put us in looked so great and natural. I hope they look as amazing as we think they are going to be!!
Band - Route 66 (from Teaneck, New Jersey). I just love these guys. Deena Miller is the band leader and she is just a ton of fun. We got so many compliments on the band and everyone was dancing all night, having a ball!!
And last but DEFINITELY not least...
Reception - Lands End. What can I say? They made the day what it was. I don't think one guest left without commenting on the gorgeous setting, incredible food, etc. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious and abundant (and, yes, I even got to eat some of it!). Best thing we ever did was add an extra 1/2 hour to the cocktail hour!! Rebecca, my bridal attendant, was just wonderful...not to mention, we found out, a sorority sister of mine!! And Marietta, the maitre d', was incredible. She didn't let anything by her. The whole staff, in fact, were great. I really don't know what else to say except that it lived up to and surpassed my expectations.
All in all, a WONDERFUL, FABULOUS, PERFECT WEDDING DAY!!!

Alison - you and hubby look soo happy! And I am thrilled to hear the Lands End was so perfect - I'm less than 10 months away from my Lands End day and now, even more excited!!!I can't see any of your centerpieces in the pics - what did you use? And the flowers behind your sweetheart table, did you provide those or did LE?
again, congrats! let's hear some more about the big honeymoon now!!!

Re: JULY 6 WEDDING REVIEW (FINALLY!)
Thanks again, everyone!!Sandy, we did very simple centerpieces...floating roses in glass bowls with multicolored petals sprinkled around the tables and votive candles. It looked very beautiful and elegant and it was nice b/c it didn't obstruct anyone's view or conversation (when they weren't up dancing, that is!! ). It was also nice because we had full-sized wine bottles on the table as favors so, with the smaller centerpieces, it wasn't overpowering or too crowded.
The flowers behind our table were the same arrangements we used for the church. Flower Michele brought them over to Lands End.
As for the honeymoon, I've got about 9 rolls of film developed from our trip to Italy, but not scanned. Will try to get to scanning some of the highlights over the weekend.

Re: SOME (MORE!) PICS FROM MY JULY 6 WEDDING WEEKEND! - NOW WITH REVIEW ADDED!
your centerpiece idea sounds very similar to what i had in mind - lots of candles, no big floral arrangements. can't wait to see the honeymoon pics! congratulations again Mrs. Alison!
