String Quartet/Flute Trio

I'm looking for a reasonably priced but good string quartet/flute trio for my ceremony (about 1 hour). Anyone have any referrals or suggestions?

I am looking for places to take photos for my April 2001 wedding. What is the deal with the Westbury Gardens? I have never been there?

Thanks, Lisa

I'm using Neil Edwards Productions for my ceremony and reception. For the ceremony there will be a pianist and flutist. Neil Edwards Productions is located on Woodbury Road in Hicksville. I thought they were very accommodating and you could have whatever number of musicians you wanted.

depends on alot of factors--there is a big price difference per night and per star menu. I had a Saturday night in December with surf and turf and a full vienese(3* I think), it was $108 pp--I've heard the same setup has gone up to $125 in 2000.....Gina :)

Would you mind telling me how much you're paying per hour?

Kate, Don't worry I will be with you guys until the end!! I am about to loose my mind!! And at the same time I am having the time of my life! I have only 26 days left and everything is going as well as can be expected. We did the finals at the hall over the weekend, and tomorrow we go over the final arrangements with the DJ, Video, and Florist! This weekend I have my hair trial, and another fitting. Seating has been a PIP to say the least, why do people believe that they do NOT have to send in their RSVP's by the date indicated??? I was so organized and did not believe that I would be running around like this at the last minute!! But I also have a little advise, leave yourself plenty of free time at the end you will need it! Also I do not know if they all do this but my hall provides the cake topper, toasting glasses and cake cutters. Good thing I waited till the last minute on this one, I am not having a cake topper because it does not really go with my cake, and I think that I have enough keepsakes from the wedding so I will use their toasting glasses and cake cutter, besides it saves a few bucks.

I don't remember exactly how much for the ceremony. I'm using them for my ceremony, another configuration for the cocktail hour and a band for the reception. I'll look at my contract tonight and post the info tomorrow.

There are a few String Quartets here on this site. You can find them here http://liweddings.com/businesses/31/music.html

I looked at my band contract last night. Unfortunately they only included a total price, not a price per type of music. Since I'm having 3 different configurations, 1 for ceremony, 1 for cocktail hour & 1 for reception, I can't give you exact prices. But I remember from when I was shopping around over the summer, prices ran about $150 per musician per hour. I aslo found that most bands would give pricing info over the phone. Hope this helps.

Was wondering if anyone has ever stayed at a resort in the Florida Keys. I've never been there, but I'm probably honeymooning there but I'm not sure where to stay. Marco Island?

Yes, thanks. I will keep this in mind. I was quoted about $450-$550 for a quartet. we will see. we have a new friend who is an Opera singer and she know some musicians. Cross your fingers that they will be cheaper!

What I decided is to wrap the favor in a clear party bag that has blk & white confetti printed on it, and has confetti inside. Tie it up with a ribbon and attach the place card to the bag. This way, one per couple/person. I am also putting together little goody bags for the kids and attaching their placecard to them as well. These will be set up on a table outside the hall ...just like the placecards normally would be. What to you think?

We did the 1 day precana gig. Paul works in NJ and I work in Suffolk county (we live in Queens). the 4 meeting precana would have been difficult to coordinate with our schedules.
