Swan club rooms?

Hi!

My FH and I just checked out the Swan Club last night for a summer 2010 wedding on a Sat afternoon. It was beautiful and definitely more in our price range than other RH - so far we have only looked at the Thatched cottage, but this was $35 cheaper pp, before the tax and gratuity.

We are having a small wedding, probably around 100 people, leaving us with the options of the Garden Room and the Contessa Room. Do you guys have any opinions on these 2 rooms? I really liked the Cocktail hour room that went with the Garden room because my FH wants the Cocktail hour inside for our older guest, but I would like them to have the option to go outside. We also liked the room set up more, and the fact that it has its own bathrooms. The Contessa Room does have the beautiful view though.

We are just concerned about the fact that the Garden room is right underneath the Contessa Room, we weren't sure if the sound would be loud. If you could hear the music, people etc.

Has anyone had their/been to a wedding in these 2 rooms??
thanks!

Re: Swan club rooms?

I have nt been to the swan club recently but heard a story the other day on here that the cocktail hour filled up with nats & so they had to evacuate & sent everyone to main ball room right away. OMG!!
I would die if that happened at my wedding.

Re: Swan club rooms?

When I looked at the Swan Club, they only gave me the option of the Contessa Room. Like you said, the view is really nice, but I didn't particularly love the set up of the room. I felt like it was really long and we would have been soooo far away from the guests in the back (or the front, whichever way you look at the room, I guess lol). But it was a nice space and great for the money! Although I didn't see the Garden Room, I think I'd want to go with the Contessa Room just cause I wouldn't want to be below another ballroom.

Actually I think that was at the Coral House.

I think both rooms are beautiful. I would probably go with the Garden room only bc I like the set up of it better and you can have the outdoor patio.

The Contessa Room is next to the Camelot room too, so you might be able to hear the music from next door anyway.

im an avid swan club post reader LOL and i dont remember hearing about this... are you sure it was SC?

On another note, bc of our guest list size, we were just right for the garden room but a little short for the camelot... FH fell in love with camelot so we had them drop the min to 150 from 165 and said we'd do it any ways possible to have that room... Now we're lookin at a guuestlist thats climbing to 200 any day now.... With that said, if you think you may have a similar case, I'd have yourslef booked in the Garden room to be on the safe side.

Garden is better setup so that you're central to more guests, private entrance w. private bathrooms and I'm guessin they have to have bigger stalls than the ones upstaires

I wouldnt worry too much about any noise though. All the Garden room reviews I read on here never mentioned anything like that

ETA: and for a date in august like myself where it might be hot as hell, you may want CH to be inside, not outside on the patio like the contessa room would have

Re: Swan club rooms?

The Swan Club was the first venue my FH and I looked at. Like you we're having a small wedding of a little under 100 ppl so they showed us those rooms too. We thought the grounds were lovely, but I really didnt like the room that was for our sized party. I really didnt like the split levels b/c I felt like the couple of tables you'd put on the dance floor would feel separated from the party. The BM tried to give us the story that the 'young' ppl would like to be closer to the dance floor, but I thought it gave the place a very disjointed feel and would make the party feel split up. Just my opinion, but I kept looking after that.

Re: Swan club rooms?

I went to a wedding this summer in the Swan Club.
The cocktail hour room was great. It was outdoor but was still covered so it gave the guests and extremely comfortable feel bc it was not too hot.
I am not sure which was the name of the room but it was the one that was downstairs. We did not hear a think besides what was going on inside her room. I think she had about 120 people and the service was great. If you pick SC you have nothing to worry about.

Re: Swan club rooms?

We have booked the Contessa room. We really liked the Garden room but could not meet the minimum. We liked that it had its own bathrooms. I wasnt completely in love with however that with the garden room, my cocktail area was the same as my ceremony area.

Re: Swan club rooms?

Thanks everyone!

We are still looking at other RH, but like I said Swan Club is very much in our price range.

One of the major things we did like about the Garden Room over Contessa was the CH room along with the set up.

We are getting married in a church, so we don't have to worry about the ceremony and CH being in the same room. I dont think i would like that either!

Thats another reason why we decided to go for the camelot... we're having the ceremony there and i think to have both in 1 room would have bothered me a little
