Temple Chaverim

Has anyone attended an affair at Temple Chaverim in Plainview? If so, please let me know how it was. We looked at it today and simply loved it, however we have never heard anything about it.

Thanks!

Re: Temple Chaverim

I haven't attended an affair there, but FI and I look there a couple of months ago when we were shopping around for a temple. The caterers just took over from another caterer pretty recently. When we looked there, they were setting up a for a wedding and it looked lovely. The caterer has a very good reputation for tasty food. And the price was great when we looked there!

Re: Temple Chaverim

My DH's family belong to that temple. I've been there for Friday night services and on the high holy days.

Re: Temple Chaverim

My sister just recently sent me a link to all of the synogogues in the NY area. Maybe this will be of some help you in your search. I know it will be for me! Except I am ruling out Mt. Kisco!

Re: Temple Chaverim

Which caterer took over? I'm just curious b/c I hadn't heard about it when I was planning my wedding. I'm wondering if it's one of the caterers from one of the other temples that I've had experience with.

Re: Temple Chaverim

Jackie,

In heard it's President Caterers. If it is, whoever has their wedding there has nothing to worry about.

Re: Temple Chaverim

I was wondering if it was President! President caterers are at EMJC where I got married, and at Oceanside Jewish Center, where one of my good friends got married. They are wonderful! The food is so good, and they are a pleasure to work with.

Re: Temple Chaverim

It is in fact President Caterers (same as East Meadow and Oceanside). So far I have heard nothing but good things about them.

My choice is coming down between Temple Chaverim and The North Ritz Club.

Opinions between the 2??

Well, I've never been to either of them, but I think a bit part of the decision has to be whether you and your DH want a temple wedding or not. I have nothing but good things to say about President caterers, and I have only heard good things about NRC as well. Good luck with your decision - I'm sure whichever you choose will be wonderful!

I agree, two different venues, but you can't go wrong with either. EMJC was great with President Caterers...highly recommended and I heard that Temple Chaverim is great too.
