It is so ridiculously expensive here. It makes me really sad that our first house is probably going to be a huge compromise in terms of what we would ideally like to live in vs. what we can afford. I mean, we don't expect our first home to be a mansion, but I never imagined a tiny fixer-upper with no backyard, either

I'm from upstate and I've looked at the houses there and you can get such NICE, BIG BEAUTIFUL houses there with a lot of property for very little $$ compared to here.

I knew it was more expensive to live here but lately it's gotten out of control!
