Re: This is NOT good-dad in hospital

Update: I am completely confused.

Fluid is out, well at least coming out. It's a lot. Lung is collapsed even with the pressure released.

I called him and he couldn't even speak. He was out of breath - it seems like he's getting worse!

I'm taking control of this situation and going tonight to talk to the doctor. Maybe if he talks medical jargon I could actually understand. Saying 'there's a line on the picture' means nothing to me.

Re: This is NOT good-dad in hospital

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your father. It sounds like he is a tough cookie and wouldn't miss your wedding.

On a professional note, make sure they check his heart out also. I have seen many cases of lung problems, including pleural effusion, that can be traced back to a problem in the heart (valvular disease or something of that nature). Good luck!!

Re: This is NOT good-dad in hospital

Nope not the heart i think because it was very unilateral on the left.

And they found a pleural mass on CT. Which means he probably has mesothelioma. Taking a biopsy on Monday...I'm hope I can take him to Sloan Kettering after they make their final opinion.

Or, it might be a strange tuberculosis...

He thinks I have it all under control now. But I'm really a mess.

happy thoughts!
