Woman, we want pictures!!!

And I felt the same way the week up to when my dress was in. I couldn't concentrate, I was dizzy and nauceous. It was reality hitting me that I am getting married. As soon as you get the dress on, those feelings will go away!!

As far as your rant, don't worry, that's what we're here for!! While your father will not be there, you will be surrounded by many friends and family that love you like he did. He would want the best for you, and having this day is just as much a tribute to him and what he has accomplished (raising a wonderful daughter) as it is the joining of you and Ed.

I kind of know what you feel like with that. There are many family members that made it to other family members weddings that will not be there for mine. Some of them are still alive, but have health problems. We now have to worry about FH's grandparents also.

You will be gorgeous in your dress, woman. And when that day comes, you will be smiling. And Ed will be smiling. And in that moment, that is all that will matter.

What you are going through is totally normal! You are going to look stunning! And your emotions towards your father are all part of the normal grieving process. I am here for you whenever you need me... but you know that already! I love you girl! You are going to be a beautiful bride and your father will be so proud of you

Thanks everyone. I never lost anyone so close to me before. I am blessed with a great support system in my friends (including LIWers, siblings, and Ed. Unfortunately, my mother is not really capable of being the support I need right now in the way I need her. If I cry - she cries and then its a mess. I do not fault her one bit. 49 years of marriage is a long time to suddenly be without the man you created a family with. She often doesn't know how she will carry on as she looks at us and says 'I made you all with him.' I fall apart when she talks like that. I am not with Ed two years yet and two days without him leaves me somewhat empty. My family has showed its strength this year trying to plan this wedding in Dad's spirit. Upon suggestion from another LIWer, I purchased (at Michael's)a small frame (actually a Christmas ornament) to put my father's picture into. I will ask the florist to tie it securely to hang from my bouquet. His WWII dog tag will be sewn into my dress.

Awww.... your feelings are absolutely understandable... I think the frame and the dog tags is such a wonderful idea.

YOU ARENT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS!!!!

I got a call from Bridal Reflections earlier today and you wont believe this, but apparently, some lightpost fell down in some lot surrounding the building and broke some power lines. They had/have to close the store down from 2:30 for the rest of the day for emergency electrical work so I cannot see my dress until tomorrow. How much does that blow?????? They were very accommodating but I am so disappointed!

Lol, I'm imagining a Bridezilla moment here where you yell at them for having the audacity to 'allow' the pole to fall on their building!! As if!!

This was a situation beyond anyone's control. I am grateful that the building didnt catch fire and nobody was hurt AND that dresses weren't damaged. They handled things professionally and promptly. I couldnt have asked for more.
