I am so sorry to hear about this. Same exact thing happened to my grandfather...went in for a biopsy in June, found out he had liver cancer that spread to the lung and they would not give him Chemo. They made him comfortable but he passed on three months later. I miss him so much every day...

I hope your grandfather prognosis has a happier ending.

Update: My godfather went in for the treatment this Monday and his body was not physically up for it. They have kept him in the hospital since then and the prognosis is the what we feared the worst. The cancer has now spread to the stomach lining and his kidneys are failing.

He has opted for no further treatments and chose to be DNR. They are giving him morphine to keep him comfortable. His daughter, my cousin, and her brother flew up from FL this week to be with him. I am going to the hospital today. I just pray that I can be strong for them.

I just don't understand how this happened so fast.... that has been the hardest part for me to grasp... 2 months ago he was at our wedding and was FINE. And now...

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, they are really appreciated. I hope I can ask for just a few more to help us all get through the next couple of weeks that are sure to be extremely difficult.

Cancer is crazy..I am sure though he wasn't 'fine' at your wedding. Unfortunately some signs aren't that noticeable until it has spread too much! Which i think is the case in your godfathers situation. It makes me and others who have known someone who has cancer to feel so angry and helpless!
But i know you will be strong!!! Your cousins are going to need you to be!

I am sooo sorry reading this brought tears to my eyes as I just lot my mom to cancer!

And i can totally understand your inablity to comprehend how this can all happen so fast! My wedding was in June, My mom was diagnosed 3 weeks later and died just over a month ago! Unfortuantly cancer is just evil!

My mom had cancer in all the same locationss (and a few more) My prayers are with you in the coming days/weeks. It is going to be a very hard time as you try to say goodbye and still hold out for a miracle!

Please know we are all praying for you and if you need anything dont hesitate to ask!!!!!

There is nothing more horrible than cancer, and watching someone who is so sick with it. I have been there....
I will keep your family in my thoughts. I wish you strength during this difficult time.
