I wore my ering on our cruise - I wasn't sure about the inroom safe, so I left it in a safe deposit box at the purser's desk when we went on shore excursions.

BE CAREFUL!!!!!!! We wore ours and while mine ie insured, his was not amd of course, he lost it on our honeymoon!!

It was the most sickening feeling ever!! We were in the water and I got hit by a wave and he went to grab my arm and it slipped right off..it happened that quick! We were stupid for having them on in the water, but we wern't thinking. The worst part is that his ring was his dad's wedding ring and his dad passed away when he was 16! Disgusting isn't in? I cried, he was sad and upset, but didn't show it in front of me, his response was that it could have been worse, he could have lost me....

For this reason I got a fake ring that looks similiar to my real engagment ring. It is sterling silver... the real ring is platinum, and the stone is the same size as the fake one. I wore it to NYC the other day, and was happy that I got it. It believe it or not was a good idea of my FMIL. I have been on a cruise where they said there were safes in the cabin and there were not, and I was glad I did not take anything too valuable. I know this is what insurance is for, but why risk it?
