Re: wearing e-ring at work?

I wear mine too. I also think that part of that not wearing it everyday is old fashion mentality. I did hear much of what Christine said about applying for jobs and interviews. People see the ring and make up stories like you will be unfocused or take time off for having babies and stuff and maybe even female jealousy. Not necessarily true but it does happen. If I was interviewing, I would probably just wear the band to make it less obvious. But everyday - it is on proudly.

Re: wearing e-ring at work?

I feel like the ring is safer on my hand than anywhere else, which is why I never take it off. I couldn't imagine where I would put it where I would feel safe. It is the most valuable thing I have, a constant presence of my FI during the day when I am without him and how hard he worked for me to wear it.
No, I would definitely have to agree with the person who said if it is anyone's problem it is not yours. Why don't you not wear any name brands to work, don't wash your hair in the morning to look less gorgeous than you do, and slack off so your boss doesn't feel threatened that you are after her job? And never buy a nice car to drive to work. I'm kidding around of course, but the purpose of working is to be able to get nice things. Don't make excuses for your boss, Meg. She is wretched!!! Jealous of you, not just the ring!

Re: wearing e-ring at work?

this is funny that its brought up today cause i had a problem with wearing mine for the first time today. Having nothing to do with being showy but im a preschool teacher and today one of my kids went to hug me and when i put my arm around them, i scratched their face by accident with my ring..

I felt so horrible. I told myself that i shouldnt wear it anymore but i love it so maybe i just have to be more careful?

Re: wearing e-ring at work?

I feel naked w/o my ring!
I get teased a lot at work for my ring, but that sure as hell won't stop me from wearing it! (It's not like I have a career path there, so I'm not worried. Besides, many of the women I work with are catty and it's a great 'up yours!' )

Re: wearing e-ring at work?

I don't wear mine to work I am constantly washing my hands and banging them around and I know 2 other critical care nurses who lost their diamonds doing patient care. I feel my job is just too yucky to wear mine. At least I only work 3 nights/week so I have my ring on ALL the other times.

Re: wearing e-ring at work?

I don't take the train, i drive to work, but I wear mine everyday! I may not if I took the subway?

I always say wear your ring, or any other jewlery, wear your favorite perfum daily, to 'save' things for special occasion, to me, is ridiculous, life is too short!

Re: wearing e-ring at work?

I always wear mine, but I understand the problem with your boss. When I got engaged, I started having major problems with my female boss. I was 25 and she was 31 with no good prospects as a husband in herr life. She is a very attractive woman with a great body, but she had issues. It was a mjaor problem b/t the two of us and I eventually requested a transfer which made me a lot happier. The way I look at it...It $ucks for her!!
I have my exit interview tomorrow(my last dat here is Fri) and I plan on telling HR everything!!!

Re: wearing e-ring at work?

I wear mine everyday and all my regular customers ask me about the wedding every time they come in. Plus, I'm one of only about 5 girls with about 20 guys and it makes me feel more girly and it helped me & the other girls to bond more!

Re: wearing e-ring at work?

I use to wear mine everyday until I had the baby and now I only wear it occasionally. I'm afraid scratch him with it. I wonder if this is how the habit of not wearing it begins...
