Wedding Cake - Westbury Manor

Had my wedding there last October and it came out good. We ordered the flavor that we know already (custard and raspberry) and no complaints at all.

Wedding Cake - Westbury Manor

Westbury Manor uses the same bakery as my venue and my cake was delicious and we had no complaints. It also looked good. I have pics in my review.

Wedding Cake - Westbury Manor

I am happy to hear these positive experiences with the cake from WM's bakery as I have been a little worried about this too.

Re: Wedding Cake - Westbury Manor

Like everyone else I was nervous about the cake. I scheduled an appointment about 4 months before my wedding with Francesco's Bakery. I was very impressed during our tasting and we went ahead and ordered our cake.
On our wedding day the cake was very flavorful and moist (I hate using this word but I can't think of another). The design was correct and they added my ribbon and bling that I dropped off.
Don't stress about this, you have nothing to worry about. If you need piece of mind, schedule your tasting soon.

Wedding Cake - Westbury Manor

I had my tasting at Francesco's back in April. The cake flavor was fine and we chose their basic vanilla custard with raspberry filling. My fear is that we're paying extra for the cake to look like the inspiration pic (in my album) and I've read a few horror stories where the cake looked nothing like what was paid for. If they gave me the wrong flavor (I've read about that happening too), it wouldn't be the end of the world, but I just want it to look like the picture I gave them.

Wedding Cake - Westbury Manor

We met with Sandy from Francesco's Bakery which is the bakery that is used for WM. He was such a sweet heart! We actually went in there with one thing in mind and ended up choosing something he had in his album, which we loved. We tasted all of the cakes and were pleasantly surprised. They were all moist and delicious. We loved them so much and heard wonderful things that we even are using them for our favors! Don't worry.

Wedding Cake - Westbury Manor

thats great! I'm so excited to do a cake tasting there! thanks ladies. I hope they have the flavors red velvet and strawberry. One more question. Do they decorate the cake for you and charge extra or do I have to get a florist to do it. I know WB give the cake with the wedding package.

Wedding Cake - Westbury Manor

I've never had their wedding cakes but I love by Francesco's and everything I've ever had there has been excellent. If I had the option, I'd probably use them (but we're just going to go with the recommended bakery at our venue).

Sandy was a doll! Unfortunately, our tasting was midweek at 6pm and it seemed like our cake samples had been cut and sitting out for while before we got there because they were dry and a little hard around the edges. But still not bad.

They do have red velvet cake but that and carrot cake were extra. Sandy will show you a ton of pictures of cakes they've done and tell you which styles are included. It seemed like the basic free design is simple scroll work and no fondant. I am not into scrolls, so I wanted a more simple design. But, because my design will use more piping and take longer, it's costing an extra $50. I plan to have my florist add flowers to the top.
