Wedding Day Disaster Update

Well ladies...

A while back I put in a posting about BIG problems I was having and the whole very thought of looking at cancelling my booked already wedding. Well I just wanted to tell all of you what I ended up doing. I lost quite a bit of my money being that I cancelled a Caterer, a DJ a photographer and a florist. I tryed to work around a family matter that had half of my invited guests not going to my reception. We decided that we would plan a "Destination Wedding" instead. Unfortunatly of all the wedding nightmares I had..this was prob. the only thing I didnt imagine. I am sure everyone on here has there own story about someone they know who is miserable and stories about people who try to ruin things for everyone else around them. We sat down and put our heads together (after much crying on my part) and found a way around it all. We decided to alope (sp?)

In only a few weeks we will be on a plane on our way to Hawaii and we will get married in a small church in the mountains of Maui. Maybe its not what we set out to do, but we did learn something from all the problems with family and other people who are far from supportive. You have to make your own happieness. Sometimes things go wrong but its up to us all to find a way around it and make everything all work out...and in this case we did!!! So we wont have a first dance, I am sad about this much, but I will have a big white limo (stocked) and a ride in paradise to marry the man I want to spend the rest of my life with, kinda makes up for what we lost out on.

Wedding Day Disaster Update

I am very happy for the two of you. Congratulations on your decision and have the time of your life together. You are absolutely correct about doing what is right for you and finding happiness together. All you need is him and yourself for your wedding. Hawaii is a beautiful and romantic place. You will enjoy it. I am also looking for my veil and don't want to spend a lot of money either.

Best wishes and a lot of happiness.

Judy- I remember your situation and how unhappy you were. I am glad that things are working out and I'm sure your day will be wonderful! You are right about having to make your own happiness! Good Luck and lots of happiness in the future!! Lori

I found this great site to plan your actual ceremony. It's wonderful. You type in your names and pick your selections of readings, consent, vows, ring exhange and then submit and it pops up with your names and selections. I absolutely became unstressed doing this. My ceremony is planned!!!!! The site is:

JUDY - I AM SORRY THAT YOU WERE SO UNHAPPY IN THE PLANNING OF YOUR WEDDING. I THINK THAT A DESTINATION WEDDING IS LOVELY. I HAVE WITNESSED ONE AND IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. THE WEDDING RATE IN NY ARE OUT OF CONTROL.

BEST WISHES FOR YOUR FUTURE !!!

Thanks and good luck!
