I took my dress off at the end of the night in the bridal suite and my mom took it home with her. DH and I went to stay in a hotel close to the airport since we were flying out early the next morning.
This is what we are doing

We went home and I'm glad we stayed there.Plus, my bridesmaids decorated our house with rose petals, had a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our fridge and we had His and Her pillowcases with our names on them!

Re: Wedding Night Hotel or Go Home?
Hmmmm I've thought about this but not sure what we'll end up doing....we live together so it kinda makes me want to stay in a hotel, and get some breakfast in bed the next morning....without me being the one who cooked it!!
I guess I'll decide once we book our honeymoon to see how much time we have before we leave.

Re: Wedding Night Hotel or Go Home?
We just went home...it made even more sense for us at the time as we lived very close to the airport and had to be at LGA by 5am!

going home, nothing like sleeping in your own bed after a busy day
this is what we did and i would not change a thing, we did not have to worry about checking out th next day

HOTEL! But mainly because we are NOT having a honeymoon and our children will be home with my sister.. we wanted to spend the night alone.

Re: Wedding Night Hotel or Go Home?
Honestly, I would love nothing more than to spend the night at a hotel. However, I can't afford it. I have spent way too much $$ then I wanted to already. Since FH and I just bought our house I think we will just sleep there and this way it's less of a hassle with packing for a honeymoon and all. I think we are going to go to FFIL's house for an afterparty. Before we go home I am going to have his brother or someone sprinkle the room with rosepetals and put champaign in a bucket on ice with two glasses. Hey, It's all about the LOVE!!

Re: Wedding Night Hotel or Go Home?
We live in NJ, but got married on LI. We left for our HM late the evening after the wedding from NJ, so we went home after the wedding. It just seemed so amazing to leave my house a single girl on Friday and come home with my husband on Sunday. It was also nice because we had the opportunity to unwind and just spend quiet time as a newly married couple without having to rush to check out of a hotel, get to the airport, etc....
I also didn't have to worry about packing for the HM before the wedding with all the other running around.

We don't live in LI so we're definitely going to be staying in a hotel the night before and the night of the wedding.

Re: Wedding Night Hotel or Go Home?
We're staying at Oheka the night of, it's right up the road from Woodlands, about 5 minute drive.. We want the 1st night married to be special so we're going all out and getting a suite. All the little details will follow, but I just know we'll have an awesome, memorable time in a suite..

Re: Wedding Night Hotel or Go Home?
It depends when we're leaving for our honeymoon - if we leave the day after the wedding then we'll be spending our wedding night in our apartment, but if we leave 2 days after the wedding then we'll spend the wedding night in a hotel.
