Wedding Night-Marriott

Hi I was just curious if anyone heard any pros or cons on the Marriot in Uniondale? I was thinking of us staying there the night after the wedding and then the next morning we leave for our honeymoon. Only thing is, it will be a trip to the airport. What is everyone else planning? Heather

I had 20 tables with 10 people at each and we had plenty of room!! I can't imagine however, 500 people there. I think 250 will be fine and you will have enough room. Just a reminder to Cottage brides. The cocktail hour is considered a "standing room" cocktail hour. Which means many people stand- I wasn't crazy about it but it worked out fine.......

By the way it's nice to hear that you did care, if you were going to spend at least $1000 on something you did'nt care about that would be pretty foolish.

Hi. The Marriot in Uniondale is a beautiful hotel. I havent looked into where to stay yet. But I was going to check The Marriot in Uniondale or the Garden City Hotel. Dont go to the Marriot in Melville -it is not very nice. The Huntington Hilton is very nice as well. Did you get a price on the Marriot?? Let me know what you come up with. Good Luck

I heard the marriot in uniondale is nice. The only thing i was wondering is if perhaps there is a nice hotel closer to queens. The Marriot I think has a special Honeymoon package... that is what I heard at least.

It might sound tacky but if you want to stay near the airports some of the hotels near the airports are beautiful. My aunt had a brunch accross from LaGuardia and it was beautiful. The Garden City Hotel is closer to Queens. The problem is I dont know how many hotels there are between Long Island and the airports. But check out some of the hotels around the Airports. Good Luck.

The Marriot by LGA is very nice - and has a great brunch (in fact, that's where I had my shower!) http://courtyard.com/LGACA/

I believe there is a Crowne Plaza over there as well.

What are we doing? We're staying in our apartment (we only moved in together a short while ago). I can't think of a more romantic way to start our life together than in our own home.

I don't know if it matters to anyone to travel 40 minutes, but the Windwatch out here in Islandia is beautiful and lot's to do. I'm staying there and then leaving from Islip airport, - 20 minute ride, if that.

We're doing that, too! Our little apartment has more meaning to us than any posh hotel. Besides, then we won't feel as bad splurging that extra little while on the actual honeymoon out of town :-)

the garden city hotel

I checked out the honeymoon suite at the Garden city Hotel this week. I was NOT IMPRESSED at all!!! They wanted $620 for the nite and that does not include breakfast. They also had a lower rate room, that was not a suite for $529 which included breakfast the next day.

I buy from a company named Wang's and I know they definetly have them for about $1 each. Unfortunately, they are a wholesale only company and they recquire a minimum order of $150.00.

Good Luck!

Does anyone know the cost for the bridal suite for the Mariott in Uniondale? From what I've heard The Garden City Hotel is definetly not worth the price.

Good Luck!

I am going to call sometime soon and I will let you know. I cant believe how expensive the Garden City Hotel is! It is almost as much as 5 days in one of the fanciest hotels in Maui!!

the garden city hotel

Thanks for the tip!! I was going to call them to see if they had a room available, but not for over $600!! That's insane. Is anyone staying in a hotel near JFK? I have a very early flight the next morning, but I don't want to stay in a standard motel. Thanks!

the garden city hotel

My fiance and I are staying in the Ramada Plaza at JFK. We thought the Ramada was a safe choice since its a national chain, and the price was right ($119). We're only going to be at the hotel for a few hours, so we didn't think it was necessary to splurge on someplace like the Garden City Hotel.
