Best of luck sweetheart! Whether you end up having it at FH or at Sandals, you can STILL make it your own, no matter what!

Kamille, Im happy that you took the initiative and decided to do what YOU want to do. You are a type of person to try and make everyone happy and sometimes you forget about yourself (ahem BM dresses! )
Im proud of you and like I told you before whatever the outcome is- its whats meant to be! Either way you will be a gorgeous skinny @ss bride, and your wedding will fabulous! Whatever decision you two make you know im here for support!!!

BTW How was Thomas Knoell?!

First off, thanks to all you girls for your support I really appreciate the words of encouragement. We're probably going to sit down with his parents tomorrow (since today is Super Bowl) and have a serious talk. I'm nervous but I know no matter what as long as I stay true to what I really want it'll all be ok. My mom is happy that we're thinking about doing this (she wanted us to have a tiny wedding and save our money for a nice apartment and our move to california). My mom took some of our contracts to have her lawyer bosses look at to see if there's anyway we could get a full refund (or at least most of our money back) since we're cancelling with so much time left. I just wish Nassau county had that same cancellation law that Suffolk county has, then I wouldn't have to worry about having to get mean. I'll keep you all updated on everything that happens with the hall and vendor's. If they won't refund my money than I'm definitely going to try and sell our deposits and stuff. Here's the website for where I would love to have the wedding: Royal Plantation

Oh Athena...Thomas Knoell was AMAZING!!!!!!!..I found a headpiece I LOVE and ADORE!!!!!!!...I can't wait to go back and put the deposit down on it. I actually met with Thomas Knoell and he's the nicest coolest guy! Didn't pressure me at all, the prices for the ones I liked were about the same and the price of the one I bought from David's Bridal. The store is so cute and feels so fancy, it was an awesome experience. You should come with me when I go to put the deposit down!

First of all, it's great that you guys have that open line of communication, no matter what the situation. I commend you both on that!! And as far as your wedding, it will work out the way it was meant to be. So long as you have your soulmate by your side, the rest of your worries will be carried away. Good Luck Kam.

Well put!! Good luck Kam, everything will work out!!

Re: Well ladies..FH and I have done some serious talking..

Coming from someone who just wanted a Vegas wedding and then come home and throw a party instead of a full blown reception, I can tell you that you are doing the right thing in making yourselves happy.

I wish I had that option. FH is the one who insisted on the wedding, and only because he would never hear the end of it from his family if he didn't have it. And he confessed he really wanted a traditional wedding. So while my dream was to keep it simple, I couldn't take his dream away from him.

His family might fight you on it, but how old are his sisters really? Whose to say they won't get married later down the line, and then his family can have the joy of being a part of a wedding?

His family will probably be disappointed but in the end they only want us to be happy..No matter what I know they'll support our decision, whatever it is. I just hate to disappoint them because they're such wonderful people and they've been so good to me.

They've even said that their daughters are never going to have weddings. Its not their age so much as both of them have children (one of them has 5..the other one has 2) so if they ever do decide to marry the men they're with than it will probably be a civil ceremony at city hall.

Re: Well ladies..FH and I have done some serious talking..

Just an FYI regarding deposts and canceling your hall... In Suffolk county the law states that if you cancel more then 6 months in advance it is assumed the hall can rebook and you get your whole deposit back minus $100. If it is less then 6 months then you only get your deposit if they rebook.

yeah i know i've seen the law posted a few times on the BHB board and its really awesome that they have a law like that in suffolk county...unfortunately fox hollow is in nassau county and there is no law in nassau county pertaining to this matter..luckily my mom is taking my contracts into work with her tomorrow to her lawyer bosses to see if anything can be done. One of her lawyer bosses lives in Great Neck so he might know about halls and contracts and that good stuff. It just stinks because Nassau County should have a law just like the one Suffolk County has.

I mean my hall has a little over a year to rebook that room so if they don't give me my deposit back I'm gonna make a HUGE stink about it.

thanks! FH and i were talking tonight and he said, 'If you're not happy I'm not happy. Plus I don't want our marriage to start out with you miserable. And spending roughly $50,000 is a lot of money for one day and starting our married lives in debt is not my idea of fun.'

After he said that I knew that no matter where we have our wedding its going to be beautiful and perfect..i love my FH
