Westchester girls: Nail salons?
I need a recommendation for a good nail salon in the Hartsdale/Scarsdale or White Plains area. Any suggestions?

Re: Westchester girls: Nail salons?
yeah, I'm always interested in new hair places. Mien is ok, I mostly go b/c the woman expects, me & it is close to me. It is a little farther douth though, on Bronx River Road, technically its Bronxlilee/Yonkers, but its right near the Fleetwood train stations. It is called hair Dimensions. I aslo get my nails/eyebrows doen acrros the street at Salon Jade.I once went to the place in the Galleria for just a manicure & loved it! They man did a great sahpe & the color lasted. Its just a little out out of my way.

Re: Westchester girls: Nail salons?
I was born/raised and still live in Westchester (specifically in Scarsdale) and I can highly recommend the following:For Hair (Color, Cut, Blow-Outs)
Cherylyn Salon on Central Park Avenue in Hartsdale. I go to Laura for my color and cut, but all of the ladies are terrific there. If I wasn't getting married in Long Island and needed hair/makeup people out there, I definitely would have went there for my wedding
Cherylyn Salon
157 South Central Park Avenue
Hartsdale, NY 10530
Tel (914) 997-0323
Link: Cherylyn Salon
I get my nails done in Manhattan 90% of the time, but there is a salon right on Harsdale Avenue (closeby the Hartsdale train station) that I know a lot of people go to and are happy with. I think this is the one:
Hartsdale Nails
185 E Hartsdale Ave
Hartsdale, NY 10530-3502
Phone: (914) 722-4925

Glad I could help, Heather -- I'm almost certain that they do makeup at the Cherylyn salon also .. she can call to ask, and actually it might very well be on their website. I'll actually be there for my color , highlights and a pre-wedding 'trim' this Friday AM so I can ask around for recommendations and FM ya

Thank you soooo much!!! I actually went to Cherylyn Salon a few months ago for a blow out and I wasn't happy at all. It was like the woman didn't know how to blow out hair. Maybe I'll try them again with another stylist. It's right near my house too.
Thanks for the suggestions!! I would really appreciate any other recommendations since I'm new to the area and I have no idea where anything is!
P.S....What about a really good Italian deli? Anyone of those nearby??

I'll ask FH. His family lives in Scarsdale. There is a deli he likes in the Scarsdale Village ( by the train station) that makes good meatball heroes ( men!) I don't know the name of it.
His parents go to some butchers, Italian stores, things like that. I will try& get the names for you.
Have you found a supermarket?
For specialty things, there is a Trader Joe's on 22 & a new Whole Foods in White Plains in the Fortunoff shopping center.
For regular shopping, FILs go to the A& P which I think is on Central Avenue & FH likes the Food Emporium (a little pricey) which I think is just off of 22.

Re: Westchester girls: Nail salons?
For food shopping I go to Stop and Shop which is right next to the Westchester Mall. It's about 10 min away from me but I don't mind the drive. There is a Trader Joe's on Central Avenue right by me that I also go to and I love it there.
I am looking to find a nice, clean Italian deli. I don't mind going out of the way as long as it's good.

Re: Westchester girls: Nail salons?
They just opened a new nail salon on Central Ave. in the shopping center with Marshalls. My friends and I have been going there recently and they're pretty good and reasonabe, $10 for a mani, $20 for a pedi. As for hair salons, I go to Salon Maffei on Mamaroneck Ave. My friend Jen works there and I trust her with my hair. There's an Italian deli/meat place up Central Ave. across from Bed, Bath and Beyond and there's a great one in Mamaroneck, but I can't think of the name right now. We should set up a Westchester GTG and have our nails done and go out for drinks!

There are a lot of good restaurants around here, what kind of food are you looking for? Here are a few suggestions:
Steak
They just opened a Mortons in White Plains
There's a Ruth Chris in Tarrytown
Italian
Graziella's in White Plains
Spigas on central Ave. (family style)
Japanese
Nodas in White Plains (this place is my favorite! it could definitely use a facelift, but the food is awesome)
American/bars
Cheesecake Factory in White Plains
Douley Macs and Lazy Boy on Mamaroneck Ave. (bar food)
Chinese
PF Changs in White Plains
Imperial Wok in North White Plains
Asian fusion
Blue in White Plains
Seafood
Legal Seafood in White Plains
You can throw tons of Westchester questions my way. I've lived here my entire life!
