Last wedding we were at, they passed the guest book around once people were seated for dinner, which was nice because then you have time to think of something to write.

We had a platter for the RD and just our parents and bridal party signed it, it's on my kitchen wall now. We skipped it for the reception. Not to sound rude, but we figured after the second 'Best wishes' that we wouldn't even care to read it.
