Re: What is an acceptable amount to give as a wedding gift?
We usually give a minimum pf $100 per person and then add more depending on our relationship to the person and also the location/formality of the event etc.

There are so many factors included that would depend upon your gift...
- the relationship between the Bride/Groom and yourself.
- how cheap OR how generous they are with gifts for you or your FH.
- where the wedding is.
- what day of the week AND day or night.
- your financial situation, cause honestly you don't wanna give more than you can afford even if what you give doesn't cover your whole plate. Cause if someone gets married somewhere who is just an accuaintance and their plates are like $250/pp you can't be expected to cover that plus tax, ..
I guess those are just some things to consider when deciding your gift amount.
Agreed!!!!!!!!
We haven't been to a wedding a WHILE-believe it or not...but I'd have to say not less than 250-300 pp for a friend........and family more

lately.. the price is going up.. we give no less than $300-400 a wedding.. you want to make sure you cover both your plates and then a little something extra

Re: What is an acceptable amount to give as a wedding gift?
I totally agree...I give around 150pp...and add if I am in the party or close family... BUT...I must say that I dont necessarily agree that if someone has their wedding at a more expensive venue..you have to give more. That is their choice. If we all decided to get married at the Carltrun because we knew we were getting our money back we would.... but that is unrealistic. Only pick a place like that if YOU can afford to pay the plate price...and not expect others to pay it as well.

I had no clue before I started planning my wedding. It's really sad how oblivious I was. LOL But then again, you can't expect people to cover their plates either.Welcome New Vendors
