This has got to be a joke. Would anyone seriously think of firing a MOH for never having been in a wedding? If it is serious, stop being a bridezilla and tell your MOH you chose her because she is your closest friend in the world and being next to you is enough.

my moh was never a moh. my bm and moh are doing things together. she just wants to make your day perfect.

I was a MOH in a wedding last year, and I didn't know what I was doing either...she's prob just nervous she'll be fine

I agree no need to get a new one..I don't know if that was supposed to be a joke or not...
Send her some e-mails about 'bridesmaid duties' she will get a general around there and you are being subtle since she asked. She just sounds nervous and don't want to screw anything up..can ya blame her if you are already getting rid of her

My MOH felt the same way. I wouldn't have it any other way. I know that if I need something that she will be there. I would feel bad if I was chosen to be a moh and then cut off because I've never been one before. I hope that it works out!

My MOH has never been in a party....but shes not dumb...she will figure it out....and she knows that my other BM and my mom will help along the way....

I wouldnt get rid of her....

It sounds like she is just a little nervous. I don't think that is reason to get rid of her. Just let her know what she has to do when her projects come up.

if she's such a great friend, how could you think of getting a new MOH?

i'm the MOH in johnny&maur's wedding party and i'm figuring things out as i go along. i would have been devestated if she 'fired' me because i hadn't been sure of what i was doing.

i'm sure she's smart enough to learn as she goes.

My maid of honor called me up this weekend and told me she did not really know what to do bc she has never been in a wedding party before. I told her not to worry that her and my mom can get together. Was that wrong my wedding is in May 2006.

Hi your my date twin. My MOH has never beeen a MOH either but i have been giving her pointers here and there. So far she has been very very helpful and so excited to be a part of my wedding day planning.

I emailed her this...it was her first time with ANYTHING wedding related...Maid of Honor duties explained

And no, I would have never dreamt of demoting her to BM. I chose her because she was my best friend, my closest friend. Whether she could help plan a shower or not was beside the point, I wanted her to stand beside me on my wedding day.

In my eyes, a Maid of Honor is the person you are closest to. The one female in your life that you couldn't imagine having anyone else being your 'right hand girl'. You should be honored that she said yes, it is a privilege to be chosen!

i agree! She is probablly just nervous and wants to make sure she does all that you expect from her!!

Just because she is not sure of her duties or exactly what to do, holds absolutely NO grounds for demoting her to a BM!!!!! (Highly insulting)

There are not very many people who have ever been MOH's before or who have been them over and over and over again! Its a learning experience just as being a bride is! I've never been a bride before and am not sure of TONS of things I have to do/plan.......I am just going to learn as I go along, as should your MOH!
