What next?

Hello all! My wedding is less than months away and i'm not sure what to do next. We have the hall, the church, photographer, florist, invites picked out, and working on DJ and favors. What comes next? We have tasted the food at the reception hall but have done nothing else there. What are we supposed to do with them next? When do we pick colors for the table cloths and stuff? And pick out menu items? Thanks!

I asked Tiffany @ the Milleridge and she told me that the assignments are done the week of...then she meets with them to review the program for the affair (i'll be meeting w/her prior)

I'd imagine you could submit a request if you have someone you've dealt w/before.... seems reasonable to me! : )

Ask your banquet office - they met with us 2 1/2 weeks before to finalize the menu, cake, table cloths etc.....

I've just been confirming services with all vendors (DJ, favors, rings, florist, church, bridal shop, limos, caterer etc), outlining day's events & going over schedules w/family members (actually typing up a general outline so folks know where they're going), seating arrangements, packing for the honeymooon, coordinating rehearsal dinners, etc....Just wrapping it all up : )

Joanna,

I agree...give your banquet manager a call and ask them when you should be finalizing the details for those items. They should be able to give you a good idea of what is left to do and when you can arrange to do it. Keeping a list of all of the items is definetely a big help.

Good luck! Stephanie

rings? & stuff

you didn't list the wedding bands as a done item. That may take some time, esp if they have to be ordered. Also, honeymoon plans. If you are traveling overseas, you will need a passport and that takes some time to recieve- I think 4-5 weeks. Is it close to the time when you need to mail out the invites? how are you addressing them? Calligraphy, hand written or computer?

But, my wedding & reception is in the same place.Ceremony in the gardens. As the guests file out post cermony we will have a small receiving line...then start taking our pics as quickly as possible while the guests enjoy the cocktail hour. Maybe we can all our pics done in the hour, if we are lucky. Then, onto the reception. We dont have the luxery of paying to stay on a bit longer...we must be out by 6pm..another wedding to follow.

ARRGGH! but, what we did is hire 2 crews of photogs. I figured it was worth the little extra $$ if it saves us time & this way we are guarenteed to get pics of everyone! BTW, I will not see Rob until I walk down the aisle...so no pre ceremony pics together.

rings? & stuff

Thanks! Actually we are going to look at rings this weekend. I was thinking about platinum bands but they are a little out of our price range! I just looked into picture frames last night for the favors/placecards and found some I like. (Not to mention they're on sale!) They're really pretty. I was fiddling around with the computer last night and made cute little placecards to go inside the frames. It looks really nice. I don't remember if there's an AC Moore on Long Island but they're wedding department is 20% off right now! I think Michael's has these types of sales too but they don't have a store here where I live. :)

Does anyone know whether or not the grounds are good for photos? One photographer I met with said there was an area in the back of the Inn which worked well.

Thanks!

Joanna: Check out the Sayville Flea Market in Sayville on Broadway. They have tons of platinum and they are priced 1/2 off the tag.

Thanks!
