It feels different for a little while but then its back to life as usual.

Us too. It felt completely different. And it still does even though we have been together for almost 10 years and lived together for about 4. It instantly felt better, safer, like family.

I guess it depends on your particular situation, but I can honestly say it's not the same as when we were just living together.
