Nothing as important as some of the other things posted, but when my very close co-worker moved away and left the company, I had no one to eat lunch with. So I turned to LIW and have had lunch buddies ever since.


Lunch buddies, coffee break buddies, water break buddies, I-don't-want-to-work-now buddies...

i'm not going to mention names because that always gets me in trouble, so i'll just say the friendship of the classless group has been great. Boosh and I have made all of you a regular part of our dinner conversations

And the fact that LIW has been very accomodating to the men who frequent the boards and give us a chance to voice our side of things.

Finally, the victory over Felicia was a highlight of the year. the Mets are in the basement now, and the Yanks are playoff bound. But even if they win the Series, which is unlikely, I'll still have a 4 out of 6 series victory in June and a wonderful pic of Felicia in Met garb.

Mine is not wedding related, but it was the best thing... Thanks to IrishTracy I got the presale code and was able to see Duran Duran in AC last year....

I met some great friends! Some people meet the groom online, I met my friends! Turns out peabody on here worked in the building next to mine, and we both have similar jobs at the same university! And were both getting married at the same place, a month apart, using the same photographer! We now usually talk every day, and have lunch all the time. It's made work life much more interesting! And I saw julz33 several times in person (she also works near me!). It is just so nice to have a forum to vent--and it passes the time at work!

ETA: I had never been to a wedding before, and then I got invited to 3 LIW weddings in the 2 mos before my own! I couldn't make one, but it is so nice to share everyone's day after getting to know each other online!
